Tell me about nail wraps

After over a year of having back to back SNS nails done (brilliant, bomb proof) my nails are buggered by all the drilling etc so I’m having a rest while they grow out. However I hate nude nails so wondered if stick on nail wraps might be the answer? Anyone used these, are they easy to put on and crucially take off with no damage to my real nails? For clarity not talking about stick on bits of plastic but the thinner wraps

Go somewhere that doesn't drill and you won't need breaks.

Wraps are pretty weak. They last similar to normal polish. Maybe slightly longer.

@Krumblina I’ve never seen a nail salon that doesn’t use drills to do Shellac/SNS/acrylics šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Love my wraps. I use Lily and Fox (Aus site), Nails on the run (UK) or Holy Grail Nail.
All really well priced, find them easy to apply and could last 2 weeks with a base and top coat but i change every week as i get bored. Top coats can be hit and miss as some cause the wrap to shrink a little at the tip, i use CND Vinylux with no issues, sometimes i use gel if i want them to last
Be careful with suncream as it can make them go 'gummy', if using that or any oils make sure to use a top coat to seal them. I use nail polish remover to remove them but a lot of people seem to soak their nails in warm coconut or cuticle oil and use an orange stick to slide underneath to lift the wrap off. That didn't work well for me but i do occasionally do it when using a gel top coat to save me soaking them.
Line up the right size before peeling it from it's backing paper then line up in the middle of your nail as best you can, don't let any wrap stick to skin or it'll lift, use a cuticle stick to press doesn't the edges of the wrap on to the nail.
If your on Facebook there is a page for Lily and Fox and get loads of helpful tips on there even if you don't use the company itself to buy from.
They all come with a thin plastic protective film on top, be sure to peel that off before peeling from the backing paper or it'll get stuck to any top coat šŸ˜€

No decent salon uses drills. To pass the VTCT Nail Tech they are NOT allowed to use drills!

Beauty salons as opposed to walk in nail bars will usually not drill the natural nail.
It's not standard practice to drill the natural nail if someone is trained in the uk.
Nail salons that emphasise nail health over speed is what you're after

The lily and fox can take a couple of weeks delivery but for the price worth a try.
Lots of people swear by Orly bonder as a base coat, i use a keratin nail aid as have bendy nails šŸ™
If applying to natural nails make sure they are washed then cleaned with an acetone nail polish remover as if any oils are left the wrap will slide off.
Good luck, can take a bit of practice but i swear by them now, have around 70 sets in my collection šŸ˜‚
