Hi, I want something with wide bands, very structured, comes in big cup sizes and will hold them up - but very comfortable.
not the big sports top mono boob things.
im looking for a really comfortable band. I have to wear a tight band because I have big norks and they all seem to be chafey nylon. Is there anything smooth and soft?

no objections to wires
usually wear fantasie but they’re really hurting right now

thanks

Have you had a proper fitting? Because as far as I'm aware, the band should be doing most of the work in lifting and supporting, not the straps.

After a proper fitting at Rigby and Peller I went down a size in t shirts, lost a lot of tension in my shoulders and neck, and even had some feeling return to one of my arms which had nerve damage after an accident/operation.

Agree, it's nothing to do with the straps, the support should all be in the band, which should feel pretty tight to start with. if you're getting dents in your skin, that's a sign that you need a smaller band / bigger cup size combo.

There are lots of other elements to good fit too. It's a painstaking process but a good fitter will know their stuff. I've worn underwired bras all my life, and the only ones I don't notice - ie that don't chafe, hurt, flop - are Prima Donna ones. Unfortunately!

Marks flexi fit ones are my current choice. Couldn't get on with Molke

I think this is fine as a theory but doesn't always apply for those with boobs bigger than an H cup. Even with a tight band if there's no proper tension in the straps then your boobs are just wobbling around in the top of the cup. So I tighten band and straps which of course just leads to discomfort in both areas 🤷🏻‍♀️

There is also a problem that people are not even - one side fits well but the other not

And aslo the back are discrete sizes and people are not - and your size can flex as you eat or move

Edited

I am bigger than an H cup which was why I commented. It was straps digging that caused me so much neck and shoulder pain as I mentioned, when I had a fitting that completely changed.

I'm another fan of Prima Donna bras. The straps are wide, supportivecabd non slip, but they don't dig into your shoulders when properly fitted, they just contain a bit more movement. The cup should completely cover the boobage and lie flat at the top of the chest where it meets the strap, so nothing jiggles around.

They are the only bras I've found that successfully make me feel unaware that I'm wearing them to be honest. They are expensive but worth the money for that.

I pretty much exclusively wear Bravissimo Satine. I’m 34H and they’re the best I’ve found for shape and they fit well.

Doggymummar · 25/10/2024 10:04

I have a ton of the Bravissimo Satine too, 34HH. But I am losing weight and needed something smaller and cheap as it won't be long before it changes again. I got a Panache from Vinted in 34HH for a fiver and it's just the ticket.

Following! Also wear Fantasie
Have you tried freya or triumph op?

000EverybodyLovesTheSunshine000 · 25/10/2024 10:29

Oh Panache too

Namaqua · 25/10/2024 10:46

Elomi Cate bra, they are great, very supportive

NotMeNoNo · 25/10/2024 10:59

Fantasie Envisage is a good bra in larger sizes, i think I'm wearing 34HH. The HH has wide straps, 3 hooks on the back, close set shoulder straps that don't fall down. Bravissimo have colours, M&S have it in black and nude.
