To fringe or not to fringe?

I always regret it within a month of having one, but really, really want one.

I'm hoping it will make me look cool a la alexa chung, but I know the practicalities mean I will just look a mess most of the time.

How many of you have regretted it and counted the days until it grew back?

After watching mistresses I yearned for a fringe.

The hairdresser was very sensible and said "NO" to a heavy fringe, so now I have a light wispy angled finge that can be tucked away, or brought out in force for social engagements.

princessmel · 24/04/2008 16:18

Get one. I think you'd really suit one.

I love fringes.

smurfgirl · 24/04/2008 16:20

I have had a heavy fringe for ages now, love it, I get it trimmed for free about every three weeks. Easy peasy.

Ask them to cut it in a slight curve, easier to cope with when its too long.

NomDePlume · 24/04/2008 16:20

I love my fringe.

I tried to go fringe-free but my forehead is just too long, I think.

I have a very blunt, quite thick fringe with a blunt jaw length bob

princessmel · 24/04/2008 16:20

How come you get it trimmed ofr free smurf?

TheDevilWearsPenneys · 24/04/2008 16:21

Last time i had one was when DD was small and I hated it, though it was badly cut, and I didn't have time to style it.

I'll ask my hairdresser I guess, curved sounds like a good idea.

whenever i have a fringe people always say it makes me look younger...
but you look young anyway so you dont need it for that reason

Othersideofthechannel · 24/04/2008 16:42

I'm growing mine out (again) but this time I lasted 6 years with.

I just fancy a change and am too scared to do anything but cut the fringe and grow it again.

I went without a fringe for 20 years, thinking it would make me look shit. Then last year I went to a family wedding and realised:

all my aunts and cousins have one
they all look great
I look just like all my aunts and cousins

My enormo-spam has been happily covered ever since. Why did I wait so long?

You, on the other hand, are looking pretty fly already so it's not such a pressing issue for you (TDWP). Get one if you want, they're ace...but you don't need one.

princessmel · 24/04/2008 16:47

i was scanning the thread for Lou33!!

But shite, I just realised the 'many me' picture is still on my profile, I posted it a while ago for a reason and I meant to remove it. Sorry to have flashed my bra at you all.
(slaps own hand)
