Problem often seems ot be the seams, and the kind of cotton used to stitch.

The only thing that the dye might not 'take' to is if the stitching is a polycotton mix or if it has any logos or screen printing on it. We dye plenty of stuff on the basis that if you are unhappy with the colour it currently is you won't wear it anyway. We also redye things when they fade, makes them look good as new! Be brave and good luck!

Sometimes the stiching will partially take ( the cotton in the polycotton mix will absorb the dye ) and it still gives an ok effect. It will just be a lighter shade than the rest of the skirt. Have been shopping today and there was lots of things with contrast stitching so still might be worth giving it a whirl?
