I want to wear pointy-toes heels and boots.

Love pointy ankle boots. However, when I try on, it feels like my toes are being majorly squished! How does anyone wear these boots? What am I doing wrong? I don't even have wide feet. Some of them I can't even put my feet in! Any tips?

All my shoes and boots are pointed to elongate the leg.
I usually size up half to one size.

Go for a larger size? Wear them for a limited amount of time daily?

I don’t think there’s really a way to get round the fact that feet are not pointy shoe shaped and generations of women have suffered discomfort as a result. I’ve done my share of pointy shoes but thankfully haven’t suffered bunions.

I have fairly narrow feet but have to buy a size up in pointy boots.

They don't bother my toes. My suspicion would be that you customarily wear too small a size.

Try:

  1. sizing up
  2. wide fit.

I wore them for years. And have mortons neuroma in both feet now.

BUT. I'm going shopping tomorrow and I'm considering buying a burgundy pair 😁

I have one pair that are OK but they are very low. Think maybe it's the combination of a heel, pushing the foot down, and the toe shape. I tried the chisel toe boots in Next and had to size up a half size to get them to fit and then they felt like winkle pickers. I also have pretty narrow feet.

I suspect it all comes down to the shape of your feet. If your toes slope down from your big toe you may be ok but if your middle toes are longer they'll always feel uncomfortable.

Also it's not worth the damage they did. If you have large feet they look ridiculous

Up a size. You can also stuff the toes with tissue which makes then gentler on your feet and the tips less floppy.

I had some lovely brown pointed boots from Hobbs. I wore them a couple of times but were so uncomfortable. Ended up buying another pair a few weeks later in the next size up which are far more comfortable.

I have madly awkward feet, and generally cannot wear heels or pointy toes. But I have an old pair of similar boots from Clarks (and I mean really old, 25y+) which I actually can wear. IIRC they were wide-fit and I bought half a size up, plus I now wear them with half orthotics for arch support. But I think what makes the biggest difference is that they are close-fitting around the ankle, which prevents my foot sliding forward into the toe box, so my big toes do not get crushed.

This just reminded me. I had a pair of wedges that I used to slide forward in. I cut up the lining from a pair of defunct sheepskin boots and filled the toes with sheepskin. I saw on mumsnet that ballet dancers do this sometimes with their point shoes.

It made my wedges seriously comfortable.
