God, I must be boredthis afternoon. It's all Cod's fault - got me thinking about school run dresses and skirts and summer....

Issue: I don't wear flowery summer skirts much 'cos I get COLD, also they seem so THIN sometimes.

Do I need a 'slip' - I have never owned one in my life - help!
Where from? What like?

Using a slip makes clothing hang so much better. Get a decent anti static one.

I like the long cotton vests from H&M, which come down to the top of the thigh and smooth out any knicker lines. I also have a proper slip (not the M&S one, though) but the static puts me off wearing it.

I said to DD ( age 17 ) that I couldn't find my petticoat
She looked at me as if I were from Mars
M&S is the place to go for a slip

Seconding (thirding?, fourthing?) the M&S slips. Had never even occured to me six months ago, had dismissed as something my grandmother would wear. Well bloody hell - granny knew what she was doing, they are so useful.

I usually wear a half slip, I have 2, one from M&S and one from BHS, in two different lengths, it stops my summer dresses clinging around the legs and they hang better.

I think a good slip makes a 'cheaper' dress or skirt much more flattering - Debenhams do good micro slips. I also like to think I'm channelling this look in my dreams

I got a pack of 3 above-the-knee slips from M&s in black, white & nude and use them under pretty much every dress or skirts except sturdy materials like denim. They stop knicker cling/static, give a better silhouette & anything Jersey, silk, polyanything cotton etc just sits far better with a slip under.

ZOMBIE SLIP THREAD.

You can get m&s ones half price labelled as "well known brand" on amazon. They are great!

I ordered one last night from ebay. Cheap, supposedly made for a faMouS store Wink Thanks whoever revived this zombie thread, for reminding me I need one for underneath a lovely white summer skirt I have upstairs!

Was worried about static tho, I regularly get shocks from the car door, trolleys and trampolines, I don't need any extra! Confused
