Lip Fillers - can I avoid this wrinkle?

I'm looking for advice from anyone who knows about lip fillers.

If you don't like fillers, or my lips, I'd rather not hear it thanks. I'll make my own choices.

I've had 0.5ml injected once and, while I was generally happy with the look, I don't love the little lines that have appeared. Please see pics attached - I've circled them in one pic.

Is this caused by the injection technique or site? Or is just my face with fillers? Can it be avoided?

Thanks for any knowledgeable input.

I can barely see it! Tret at night, good spf amd moisturiser. If very bad, some clinics do a chemical peel, also laser, again if very bad.

I have that wrinkle. I just laugh more which pulls it out.

I can 💯 see what you are talking about

it looks like poorly injected filler but given the low amount injected I’m surprised it did that.

who did it?
someone reputable or someone “affordable”

if you go back for more I’d go to someone else and explain your issues

MrsLBrown · 11/10/2024 19:00

Has the filler migrated? Is it hard in that area you've circled?

SomeonTookMyAnonymousUserName · 11/10/2024 20:18

Thanks for the input. To answer:

I definitely go to someone reputable. I could try someone else but I've been going to this person for 8 years for Botox (for my 11 lines) and I trust them.

Pretty sure it hasn't migrated. There's no hardness or any feeling of something 'in there'.

I have it as well! From my experience it’s pretty common with lip filler. The only thing I’ve found that makes it less obvious is time but it’s still there! If I’m honest it puts me off getting any more because I don’t want the line to get worse.

Me too!

It's so annoying because I'm happy with my lips in general. You can tell
From the pic, they're not big so they were almost non-existent before! I'd like to do it again but this line puts me off

When did you have this done?

Sometimes this can happen soon after the filler due to swelling and it can take a couple of weeks to settle.

If it has been a while it could be some migration, or unevenly placed filler. It is hard to tell without feeling them/seeing them.
If you'd been to see me I'd want you to come back so I could take a look.

I know fuck all about this but common sense suggests the area between your new dents is where the filler went. So they're not actually depressions, just the points where the filling stops. I mean, it has to stop around there or you'd look like you were permanently puffing your top lip in a sneering sort of pout!

Agree with @NC543210, go and ask your practitioner if this can be tapered down a very tiny bit more.

Five months ago. The lines appeared pretty soon after and haven't gone.

I agree with the last poster, thinking about it from a common sense point of view; it's just where the filler stops.

The 'lines' are due to the practitioner's technique. Your practitioner may be reputable, and fine with doing your Botox, but it may be time to look for someone else for your lip filler, someone with better skill/better technique as those lines are avoidable.

I suspected this. Thank you
