Holdups not holding up!!!

I just can’t get holdups to stay up, they don’t fall down, they roll down. I don’t use moisturiser and I get the correct size. Help !
also here is some advice if yours fall down, I always take an elastic band (small not too big) and if they start falling I pull them up and take a good pinch of lace top in my hand and as if it were a ponytail, wrap on the elastic band. I never go out without two in my bag xxx

M&S ones used to be good for me. Rarely fell down.

How are you washing them? Iirc they are handwash, but definitely don’t use fabric conditioner on them. Sometimes just wetting the grippy bit at the top, by running your finger under the tap and wiping your wet finger along the band, can make them re grip.

Suspender belt

I think they should be called “fall downs” not hold ups 😀. I’m old school. I still wear suspenders in spring and autumn; bare legs in summer, tights in winter. A lot of sussy belts out there are designed for the bedroom, but if you want one for comfort and day to day real life, look for at least a 2 or 3 hook back fastening (similar to a bra) and a decent brand such as Fantasie.

I’m confused. Wouldn’t sizing down result in cutting in more?

No advice at all. Once when I was young and glamorous and on the way to work, I had to stop in the middle of the pavement to remove my hold ups which kept falling down, much to the delight of a nearby site full of builders.

Gosh, this takes me back!
The elastic top needs to be as deep as possible. The width of the sticky bit, I mean. Which may mean more expensive brands?
And it also sounds like you might need to try different sizes. I can’t remember if it’s size up or down, but I recall the rolling is to do with the wrong size.

Are you me?

Try a size up. If it's rolling down it's trying to find a place where its width sits comfortably.

As a rule people will try and get the smallest size they can lever on of a stretchy garment so it's often the case that the answer to a fit problem is simply to get a bigger size because I'm more fabric is needed for the garment to sit right.

There is a difference between clothing rolling down and falling down - rolling down means too small, falling down means too big (and in tops riding up means too small).

The ones from calzedonia are the only ones that don't fall down on me. I used to wear them all day with no issues.
