Boden

I've got a few bits and pieces from Boden myself (I like the skirts and the camisoles) but have never bought children's clothes from there before.

I have just ordered one of the towelling beach dresses for dd2 because she was drooling over it and because I had a free delivery code.

SO does anybody have one? Are they worth the money? Are they too poncy for words? And will every other child on the beach be wearing one this summer?

I got a free returns code too, so am able to reconsider if needsbe!

dd has one
its fab, washes well and v comfy

(every girl on a Cornish beach will be wearing one though )

janeite · 22/04/2008 20:29

That's reassuring; thanks Sagacious. We won't be in Cornwall, so maybe we'll get away with it?!

How are they size-wise?

ditto Brittany...

but yep they are nice. and great patterns and colours.

sagacious · 22/04/2008 20:33

I'd say smallish (think Next sizing)
DD has just turned 4 and the 3 to 4 stuff although still fitting is looking a little short.

downbutnotout · 22/04/2008 20:35

dd (4) has one and it is lovely. Difficult to comment on size as dd is a giantess. She has had it for a while. Came in v handy when she was having a bedwetting spell as I would rip off wet night clothes and bundle her into it in a second. Also very good on the beach.

Wheelybug · 22/04/2008 20:37

Dd has had these in the past and I must get her a new one for this summer ! They're great, v useful. DD is smallish for her age and is currently just growing out of 2-3(she's 3.3).

janeite · 22/04/2008 20:57

Fab. Thanks all. I've ordered it to match her age but may need to send back and swap for bigger then. She's quite tall but very skinny though, so perhaps the size up would swamp her? I don't mind it being a bit short if necessary.

Not going to Britanny either so may still be safe!!

DD2 aged 9 and DD3 aged 2 have them, and will be on varios Cornish and French beaches this summer!

treelover · 22/04/2008 22:38

i like th eboden girls dresses generally. pricey, but quality is good, so last for ages, and have even managed to sell some on.
also, unlike say next, not everyone is wearing them.
look around on the net, and you can usually find further discounts than just the mn ten percent off as well

janeite · 23/04/2008 21:39

Thanks! I managed to get 15% off plus free delivery and returns, so not too bad and it sounds like they are worth it.

If you can't afford the Boden ones then Millets sell these towelling dresses at £12.50ish I think

janeite · 26/04/2008 14:54

The Boden one arrived today and is very nice - soft and the colours are nice and strong. They seem to come up HUGE though, if anybody else is planning on ordering one (dd is ten, ordered the age 10 and you could probably fit two of her in it but it will be nice and snuggly, so we're keeping it).

ds has a Boden towelling hoody, his second and it's fab

DoubleBluff · 26/04/2008 15:51

I find their sizes enormous.
DS is 7 and still wears their age 5-6

MargaretMountford · 26/04/2008 15:52

true- ds is ten and the 9-10s are massive on him

MargaretMountford · 26/04/2008 15:53

well, big anyway...

Seasider · 26/04/2008 16:37

DD had one last year and this year one and loves it, Dorset beaches (!) They are big so it'll last well! She likes to wear hers over her swimming costume before and after her swimming lessons too.
