Is anyone good at spotting what someone has had ‘done’?

If so, please can you tell me how I can look like Julianne Moore when I am her age?! She’s my icon - so beautiful and elegant, plus she looks amazing at around age 60.

I am mid 40s and have the exact same colouring as her (but no freckles). I would love to look half as good at her age. Clearly she takes great care of her skin and has a healthy lifestyle, but has she had anything else done to look so good, or is it something that a normal human can aspire to? She doesn’t look like she has any Botox or fillers but I am not great at spotting tweakments, facelifts, etc. Is anyone here eagle-eyed when it come to this stuff?

A smooth brow and no crows feet at 60 likely mean botox.

Did you look like Julianne Moore at 20? If not, I don't think there's any surgery in the world that can make you look like that. She's an incredibly beautiful woman.

Not that it matters but I expect she's had many tweakments. She also has amazing bone structure.

Some good tips above

lightrage · 05/10/2024 13:34

Brow lift and an upper eye blepharoplasty, along with botox.

I can tell because I've had a bleph. Your eyelids get saggier as you age, they dont reduce or get higher (which hers have- you can see from earlier pics).

Probably lasers too. Love her!!

A bit, to be fair. I wouldn’t say I’m in her league because I’m not Samantha Brick, but she’s someone more reasonable to aspire to than many others who I look nothing like.

I had a brow lift. It's very very subtle.

Ahh, this is the kind of insight I was after, thank you @lightrage. I knew it couldn’t all be natural but she looks amazing and her face still moves like a real person…!

Stay out of the sun. Don’t just rely on sunscreens - wear, spf-rated eyewear, hats and protective clothing. Avoid sugar. Get regular skin checks. Take regular exercise - both stretching and weight-bearing.

Thanks @Doggymummar I buy this too. No procedures could give her that glow, it has to be lifestyle.

@NewMe2024 She's beautiful- she has very fair skin and I think she must also wear high 50 spf all the time which is very wise. Fitzpatrick fair type skin wrinkles very quickly if you are in the sun a lot.

mamaison · 05/10/2024 13:40

I think she has also done something around her top lip. It was quite wrinkled above it and thinner. Maybe a flip or maybe injectables.

She does has wrinkles on forehead, around eyes, jaw so I don’t think she is actually doing too much.

I think she also has great skin texture and has probably benefitted from always having to be vigilant with sun protection due to her colouring.

Good advice, thank you @Fraaahnces. I probably do need to up my sun protection game. And get myself to the gym 😂

I had lower bleph in my early 30s, now aged 50 something no one can tell, but its made a huge difference to how Im aging now. I suspect JM has been having micro treatements for years rather than too late massive procedures. She looks amazing.

Yes. The trick is to have things done before you need them doing as that way, the person just looks like they're ageing really well.

This is interesting @Sassysoonwins. I thought the advice was not to do anything (like no Botox, fillers, etc.) and then go for a facelift no sooner than 40s, but probably closer to 50s. I heard this from a v good plastic surgeon who was not in sales mode.

FWIW I don’t know if I would ever be brave enough to have a face lift done, but I'd at least like to be thinking ahead…!

Yes, she does have fine lines and a face that moves, just v few for a woman her age.

I had my first botox at 58, but yes, should have started 10 years ago!
