Hello all! As the title says really. Used to wear a full face every single day, even during the pandemic (lashes, contour, highlighter so bright you’d see me from space!!), but as I’m getting that bit older (and wiser) I’m getting sick of all the products, all the time. I also recently had a medical issue that caused my skin type to change from dry, to oily, making a lot of my usual products useless now (even with powder 🙈).

I’m thinking of just going for the bare minimum. I only just bought the Nivea tinted moisturizer as it was on sale, so I reckon that, a concealer, bit of blush, eyebrows & lips? Don’t like to wear mascara much as I have super sensitive eyes, and luckily, naturally long lashes.

Any recs for fuss free, holy grail products would be much appreciated!! Cheaper the better, but obviously without compromising quality or health.

Do you wear makeup at home each day, even if not going out anywhere? Do you go out to work ? Do you wear makeup for yourself or for other people ?

Less is more in my book. Give your skin a break.

Edited

Not everyday, but I’d say 5 days out of the week, yes. I WFH Mon-Fri, so most of the time if I’m outside, it’s because I’m running errands. I have a whole collection of “fancy” makeup for any events I’m going to. I suffer a good bit from rosacea as well, so don’t like to leave my face bare as I’m self conscious about the redness

I definitely wear it for myself though, as the more self conscious I feel about the redness, the worse it gets. So I save myself the pain (cause it actually hurts!). I also do just feel better with something on, bit more confident. I wouldn’t be afraid to go out or log onto a video call with no makeup though, I’ve often done it when I just couldn’t be bothered

Do you use makeup to help with the rosacea such as a green tinted primer ? This will help with the redness and even out your skin tone. Mineral makeup is good as it doesn't contain ingredients that will irritate your skin.

I’ve tried a few green products (primers, concealers, etc). Never really noticed much help from them. I used to use a Loreal C’est Magic CC Cream which absolutely covered the redness - but turned me orange!!! Still wore it until the bottle was empty though 😂😂

The Eborian BB & CC creams are quick and easy to apply, they do an anti redness one
Beauty Pie one powder wonder is fool proof to dust over the top
Elf waterproof eyebrow pencil with spooly on one end to brush through brows
Charlotte Tilbury bronzer
Clinique Almost Lipstick in pink honey, softer than black honey
Clinique cheek pop blusher

Ohh I remember the elf brow pencil! Possibly the only brow pencil I used up entirely (No7 was another one). Absolutely fantastic, I’ll add it to the list!

Another product to add to your arsenal might be Dr Jart Cicapair colour correcting treatment. I have very sensitive skin and go red easily and this is what I wear when I'm not wearing make up but have work calls, school run etc.
I like the No7 high shine lip crayons also :)

Bobby brown skin tint,
Eyebrow mascara,
I wear mascara because my eyelashes seem to be disappearing,
Lip tint
And sometimes a bit of cream blush.
I don't like concealer because it sits on
In my lines, and I'm too lazy

I love the Laura Geller Balance n Brighten powder foundation..buildable coverage, slightly on the glowy/luminous side but still mattifying. I apply it with a dense brush on my cheeks first to cover ages marks and pigmentation, then sweep a dusting all over.
My Maybelline brow pencil is a godsend.
Lips I'll use anything. Blush is Laura Geller at the moment, again glowy not shimmery or greasy.
As I've got older I've got a bulging makeup bag but use the same few things.

Semi-permanent make up (tattoo). Microblading for eye brows and semi-permanent eyeliner. Some people even have semi-permanent lip brush.

I wake up make-up ready every day all day. I only need to put on foundation and blusher.
