Fillers info needed please

Hi,

I’ve noticed I’m getting more noticeable ‘smokers’ lines on my lips and am considering filler. But, and I hope this isn’t a stupid question, if I was to get filler in this area, would it be the same process as when people get filler to make their lips look bigger? Just because I don’t want that sort of look at all…just a smoothing of the wrinkles if that makes sense?!

Alternatively, are there any other treatments I could look at?

Thank you!

I'd seriously research having fillers, so many people are regretting it. It migrates and it absorbs water so it expands so stretching the skin. Then there's the option of dissolving if it's not right, but what they don't tell you is that you have natural hyaluronic acid in your skin and it breaks that down too, leaving saggy skin behind.

Thank you! I didn’t know that so I’ll probably avoid then.

I use tret but I can only use the very lowest dose so it doesn’t help much.

A small amount of filler is not going to stretch your skin.
It could certainly help the lines around your lips. But the best thing to do is go to a proper practitioner (ie an experienced aesthetic practitioner - and a doctor not a beautician). Tell them what you need and what you want to improve and they can advise. There's injectables that don't act as 'filler' but help with skin laxity like profhilo etc that could make the difference you want.

By the way I've had lip filler in order to improve definition and not size of my lips and was very pleased with it.

Thank you. That’s really helpful. I will research and see what/who is available locally. I wish there was a magic potion! I’m really lucky as I have no forehead lines, 11’s and hardly any lines round my eyes but my mouth and the sides of it are conspiring against me!😩

Have a look on the tweakments guide to see if there is someone recommended locally. That's where I found the Dr I use and really happy with her.

Ps. LOVE the username.
