V necks on dresses - vests or not?

I’ve got a dress I recently bought (like chambray material) but it’s got a v neck, I have a second dress which is black with a v neck that’s quite booby on me.

Can I wear vests to cover the v area (this is for warmth as well)? I have a number of black and nude vests that fit the bill.

Yes, and I do this, but not black (unless it’s a black dress) or nude. Get colours that either tone or contrast with the dress.

Sorry op, but every time I see someone with a vest/cami under a V neckline, reguardless of the colour, I think it looks granny like. You would be better sewing up the V a little bit if you don't want to show any cleavage or even wearing a shirt underneath.

I don't go in for v neck, just doesn't suit me, and I think a cami or vest tends to bring the item down.

You can totally wear vests, also slips/petticoats work well too.
I also use those fake camis and hijab magnets where appropriate.
I have lots of pretty dresses that flash my bra because they are too low cut.

just tack it together with a small safety pin: vests or those placard things look awful

That’s what I’m going to do. The chambray type dress I’ll endure I wear something over it.
