Dry Feet, Dry Hair

Before the heating even goes on my hair and feet are in desperate need of hydration. Please help! I'm after recommendations for:

Foot cream
(please not Flexitol, I can't bear the stuff and won't use it however good it might be).

Hair mask
Hair is not coloured but has oily roots and dry ends, is fine, wavy and prone to frizz. Hair needs moisture & hydration but not protein, as protein makes it stiff and brittle. Lightweight formula preferred as easily weighed down.

Thanks for de-shrivelling me 🙂

I got gel heel toe-less socks from Amazon to wear overnight. I don't find them particularly moisturising on their own, but they're brilliant if I first slather my heels with something like palmers cocoa butter.

I was trying hyaluronic acid serums, and there was one that I didn't like the feel of on my face. Rather than waste it I tried out on my body instead. Really excellent! So in the summer when I'm wearing sandals I treat my heels overnight with serum, then moisturiser, then sock things.

For hair: I use only curly girl compliant products. Enter ingredients into curlsbot.com to check whether they are non-drying. And I only shampoo if my hair is actually dirty. Otherwise I wash with conditioner. I shampoo maybe once or twice a month.

I use CCS foot cream for my horribly dry feet. On my scaly legs I use eucerin 10% urea body cream, stopped the dusty dryness after one use. Having used various expensive shampoos for years on my dry hair which is no longer coloured but grey, I recently had a bit of a flaky scalp so bought Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner for dry scalp, hair hasn't looked this smooth for years!
For dry cuticles on fingers and toes Dior Creme Abricot is fantastic, small pot lasts me about 9 to 12 months, eliminates all hangnails.
For very dry hands in winter L'occitane intensive hand balm is excellent, I use the 20% Shea in warmer months and the 25% balm in the cooler ones.
Always had dry skin and hair but after menopause it's gone to another level of shrivelliness.

@Aparecium
Thanks for the recommendations 😀
I've actually got those silicone sock things from Amazon, they're really good but need a good cream to go with them. Great idea about using up unsuitable skincare.

Sadly I have to shampoo my hair on alternate days due to the oily roots, I'll take a look at curlsbot.com

Thank you 😀Yes, I think its menopause too.

I'll get the CCS cream and try it out with my silicone socks
I was thinking the other day how dusty my lower legs and ankles (and hands and forearms) looked so thanks for the Eucerin suggestion.
My DC has H&S classic shampoo and I borrowed it the other day and was unexpectedly impressed with it (so much so that I may have borrowed it again and replaced the bottle for us to share).
Yep, cuticles on hands and feet are so dry. I have nail oil but don't enjoy using it, perhaps I need to add a touch of luxe. I used to have the Dior rose lip balm (now discontinued) which was amazing, will check my Boots card to see how many points I have.
I must have about 15 different hand creams, people always seem to give me hand cream as present. My hands are very dry but I work with a lot of paper and medical components so can't use hand cream at work.

Agree with CCS foot cream, I use it every night
Just routine now to sit on the bed, foot cream, elbows, hand cream, lip mask, light out!

For body the neutrogena spray is great if you're lazy like me
Bioderma shower oil
Garnier body lotion is my favourite, the bottles not the tubs

I much prefer gehwol salve over affection for my hoofs. Recommended by a podiatrist and smells spa like lovely. (They also do a cream which is less intense and lovely, lovely salts for foot baths). Available on Amazon.

It could be that you have oily roots because you are stripping out too much of the natural skin oils, whether by shampooing very frequently or by using harsh shampoo, and your body is compensating by pumping out yet more oil. It's worth trying to reduce the amount of shampoo you use. I certainly wouldn't recommend going straight to very infrequent shampooing, but try every other wash and see what happens. See how your hair behaves after a couple of weeks.
