Waterproof jacket

Not entirely sure that this is style or beauty, but posting here anyway, as S&B gets lots of traffic.
DD 14 is soon to go on her first DofE expedition, and we need to get her a proper waterproof jacket. Looking online, there are not many which are suitable, in her size, and reasonably priced.
I am looking at the Craghoppers Atlas jacket, but they only have sizes 8 or 12, when ideally we would be getting the 10.
Does anyone have any experience of these? Do they come up big or small?
All advice greatly appreciated.

Mountain warehouse merino wool ski underwear is good if it's below about 10 degrees at night or 5 degrees daytime

@OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea DD is definitely not outdoorsy, so I am trying to balance quality with the knowledge that it will be used for a maximum of 3 more times after this!

@6ixThirty or others...

If you happen to be in the greater Bristol area I have a recommended ultralite sleeping bag and mat you could borrow if that helps. Used for one trip by dd. Borrow, buy second hand where you can unless they are properly outdoorsy!

@mitogoshigg that's a very kind offer, but we are unfortunately not close enough. But thank you 😊

I'd be happy to pay for a good waterproof walking jacket, it's handy to have whether she's outdoorsy or not, same with thermal walking tights/base layers and a good rucksack can be used for all types of travel when she's older.

How soon is soon? Where in the country? If before November they probably won't need base-layers, although could be useful for overnight. Good windproof/waterproof outer layers including trousers - try Cotswold Outdoor, Blacks or Decathlon - and boots are most important. Add gloves, wooly hat and neck gaiter. Some centres have rucksacks etc to borrow.

@Jellycatspyjamas the difference between adequate and good can be £££, and I am buying the whole lot in one go.
And she is not going to be using any of this elsewhere.

We were walking in Lakes last week, maximum needed was vest top, cotton long sleeve top, fleece and waterproof. Fleece lined leggings and waterproof trousers. Hat, gloves, neckgaiter just in case. Check out trespass or Regatta , often discounted and nwt on ebay. Some retailers do packages for dofe. Is this just a walk or camping too?
