Botox first timer

Hello, I'm considering Botox.
A number of friends already have this at various difference places but mainly beauty salons/clinics.
I've done a little research and our local private hospital offer anti wrinkle treatments, so now I'm wondering whether a hospital is better than a salon. Any advice please?

I'd recommend doing more research before having botulinum toxin injected into your face (which I'm sure looks lovely and has no need for it!)

I think a level 7 practitioner is what you need to ask for.
Don't got to a hairdressers etc
Dentists know what they are doing though.

Go for it! The only caveat I would offer is that in my experience the ‘better’ the clinic/dermatologist - the more they tend to want to put in! I’ve had more than one very highly recommended, very expensive Harley St dermatologist (Dr) leave me looking completely frozen/startled. I now live out of London and go to an amazing local clinic and I’m treated by an experienced, highly-trained nurse specialist for half the price of a Harley St appointment. In any case be really clear about what you’re expecting the results to be. I would recommend starting with a little and seeing how you look/feel and how it settles. Oh, and it takes a week or two to fully kick in so don’t be disappointed if there is still some movement after your treatment. Good luck!

Go to a properly trained and qualified professional. So doctor, nurse, dentist - ie not a beautician. And if you don’t want lots in, just a more subtle look, just say so (equally if you do, say that too). Do it, it’s great.

I've had it done at various places over the years as I have moved around, but I always go to a doctor never a nurse (well, once and she bruised me terribly).
I have had a few doctors that have given me results that I am not happy with though. Normally from injecting too heavily.
I now go to someone who used to inject me in London and I travel to see him + he's more expensive but it's worth it.
How old are you? I have found having botox in my 40's has been a different experience to my 30's. I now can't have too much in more forehead as it makes my eyebrows drop down and gives me a heavy look. My current doctor goes in very conservatively and scatters the botox - it's a different method but looks more natural in my opinion. It's a bit of a fine art and a doctor might need to see you a few times before you find that sweet spot that works for you.

I’ve had it 3 times now and am really pleased with the results. I’m 55 and recently started to “feel my age” and was unhappy with my frown line and “saggy”area around my mouth. went to a reputable clinic. They completely put me at ease. It feels and looks really natural and just more of a fresher look. I had my frown line (above my nose in between my eyes) the creases around my eyes and the lines around my mouth that made it look downturned. I feel so much happier in myself. It is very natural. On my 3rd time I’ve added a brow lift on, purely because I felt one side (eye) was lower than the other so had a brow lift to even things up. It has always been like that tbh and it was only on mentioning it to the nurse that she told me they could do a brow lift and even up. My husband knew I’d had something done but wasn’t sure what as he just said I looked fresher, his opinion previously was that Botox would make everything look tight and plastic, I wish I’d done this a lot sooner. Good luck.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate the advice.

I'm 46 and haven't had anything like this before. My skin is in good condition but the fine lines around the eyes are bothering me somewhat.

No one i know goes the hospital/dr for Botox. I wasn't sure if it was due to price or results. I'd rather pay more for the right practitioner.
