I go for a pedi every 6 weeks and when I leave they feel pretty smooth but within days they are all hard and cracked again!!

Not really doing anything in between my pedis. Wondering if you can recommend any lotions/ potions?

What is your foot care routine?!

I've never had cracked heels and never used cream. I'm 50, is this going to happen as I get older?
I live in trainers or bare feet though.

My Mum never has either. She's nearly 70 and has feet like a freshly bathed toddler.
I on the other hand have had craggy, dry feet since my 20's unless I pumice and moisturise regularly. I also live in trainers no more bare feet since plantar set in although I think wearing slippers all the time has helped with the dry feet.

Coconut oil is really good for cracked heels

I suspect this might be something that some people are just more susceptible to. I’m in my 60’s and have never had cracked heels. I never moisturise my feet. I just wash them in the shower and dry them. Very occasionally I deal with hard skin with a file thing.

I agree. I have one foot which never has more than a little rough skin, and one with deep heel cracks and flaky skin. I moisturise, and use a pumice stone and nail brush.

I use a cheap foot scrub from Savers once or twice a week and a urea foot cream from the same brand afterwards. I have a shaver device that I can use if the skin on my heels starts to get hard, but that’s infrequent. I trim and file my nails myself, and my daughter paints them for me. No need for professional pedicures.

I moisturise my feet every night with a cheap body lotion (currently Superdrug vitaminE cream) then put cotton diabetic-type socks on for ten minutes or so.

Flexitol Foot Balm, straight after shower / bath, alongside any good skin cream for the rest of the foot, just because I wear sandals as often as possible. I'm flat footed and only the outer heel edges that need extra attention, so I think that causes the issue for me.

I have no hard skin on my feet whatsoever. I occasionally use an electronic scholl foot file, rub in Flexitol when I remember but always moisturise my feet with the rest of my body after my daily morning shower and evening bath.

I am always spotting minging hard skin on women’s feet. Often well put together women too. It’s like they forget their heels.

Advice from a professional point of view, stop wasting money on aesthetic pedicures from beauty therapists, and spend your money on a proper foot health professional or podiatrist. They will properly remove hard skin and cracks, and also should provide advice for after care.
