Anyone been? Do I need to invest in thermals and a puffa or wool coat? I feel the cold more than most at the best of times!

I went last year at the end of Nov and there was heavy snow. It was quite cold and I was glad I'd bought a north face parka and new boots before going. Hats, gloves scarves required too.

If it wasn't snowy it probably wouldn't have been so bad. But I live in Scotland so I'm used to cold winters and still found it to be quite cold when wandering round. Daytime was pleasant enough (except Auschwitz in a blizzard!) but evenings were chilly.

It is a beautiful city though, the markets are so pretty.

I went in February and it was seriously cold. I think one day it went about freezing for about an hour. I took layers, wearing leggings under winter skirts and boots in the evening, t-shirts and jumpers/ sweatshirt. I also borrowed my son's down filled coat. Hat ,gloves and a scarf obviously.

If you are going to the castle be aware that it's a wind tunnel and I have never been so cold in my life, I needed a warm shower to bring me back to temperature. Looking back I think I may have been hypothermic.
