Powder or product to stop face shine

Any advice please? Currently I use Double Wear foundation and Glossier loose powder on top but I have a very greasy forehead which is super shiny by lunchtime. What products would you recommend? I’ve tried loads of different primers promising to reduce shine and not found one that actually did anything.

I came here to suggest this too. It really is a fantastic product.

Thanks all. That powder looks just what I’m looking for. How pale is the palest shade? I’m never sure whether to order the lightest or medium. I’ve got dark hair and hazel eyes but I’m never sure if my skin is fair or edging towards medium.

I find blotting papers more effective than any powder (and I've tried so many!) at mopping up the oil slick at lunchtime. I get them on Amazon. I really press them onto the oily bits (rather than wipe them over my face).

I w bought every powder in every price range in the last four decades and now I use talc.

A dusting of fine talc. It doesn't clog pores, it doesn't give a dry matte finish, it settles to give a soft finish to the skin but is undetectable. Make up looks the same all day until you take it off. It also provides a sunscreen although I do also use a sunscreen.

It's an absolute revelation and it's like wearing a filter on my face.

The cancer thing has not been proven before anyone mentions that.

I'm using the Refy wet feel loose powder which is the best I've ever used for getting rid of shine and blurs large pores.

Try Dr hauschka regulating oil instead. It will actually make your skin less oily, so you don't need powder to cover the oiliness

I’m pretty sure the cancer thing has been proven now - lots of people have sued Johnson and Johnson? I’d be careful about breathing it in.

I can’t find this online - does it have a different name maybe?

Hi, jumping on this thread. Do you recommend the loose powder version or pressed powder please?

I'm interested in the LM blur powder too now! One review I read said it's a bit sparkly which wouldn't be good for me.

NailsHairNipsHeels · 23/09/2024 00:42

@Powderblue1 I prefer the loose but for convenience the pressed powder might be more suitable.
