This woman is 59 and has never looked better. It’s so important to focus on muscle strength as we age and she’s inspired me to book 2 body pump classes next week and get back into the habit of going regularly instead of focusing on cardio.

I have arm envy.

She is fucking gorgeous. Same age as me virtually - and whilst I am OK looking/haven't aged badly, I would LOVE to look as good, as trendy, as slim, and as fit as her!

The picture may well be photoshopped/doctored, but I have seen her 'in the flesh' and whilst she does look close to her age (well maybe early 50s rather than late 50s) she is still very attractive, stylish, slim, and trendy.

And apparently, lifting heavy (for the individual) promotes brain plasticity according to Huberman so it's a win win 😊

MorrisZapp · 13/09/2024 14:18

Fookin ell! She looks amazing, retouch or no retouch.

I'm getting back into fitness and I want to build that up before hitting the weights. Should I get a personal trainer or can I do it at the gym following eg YouTube? I'm 53 and quite strong, apart from my core which is shite.

MorrisZapp · 13/09/2024 14:19

Sorry I mean do I need a PT for the weights bit, I can do the cardio myself.

That bikini top is a nod to Bananarama 👙

I need some of that then 😆

Feeling very thick on a course at present!

Maybe start with classes or a PT until you know what you're doing and then home weights?

Yip I think this is the way. I'm good at self starting but I'm frightened of injuring myself with poor form. Plus the inevitable fitness/health assessment will be a much needed boot up the arse.

@MorrisZapp - I decided to go down the PT route and I love my sessions. Wish I could afford more than one a week with her. I do need to do more however.

Most gyms will do a programme for you. Or I see Caroline Girvan mentioned on here a lot. There are threads I think. You Tube workouts I think. I keep meaning to have a look.

Ooo she looks fab. I really like her haircut too, it just looks so cool. I’m 10 years younger than her and in similar shape but it’s hard work, would be even harder in 10 years’ time! Good for her. Weights and not eating too much are the key!

TheActualAudacity · 13/09/2024 16:25

@Garlicnaan mostly at the gym in classes. No ‘pump’ type classes but classes that focus on a body area (upper, lower etc) and build on weights week on week. There’s usually about 8 to a class and we get pushed! A variety of barbell and dumbbell plus slam balls etc. with a sweat session at the end too - Look up Hyrox - similar to that with a dedicated weights session first.

I do have weights at home too but go to about 4 classes a week.
