Please help me I’m having a hair freak out!

I’ve struggled a lot with body dysmorphia over the years and I’m trying and failing to accept my curly hair. If I straighten or blow dry it it goes curly again the second any damp air hits it- and seeing as we live in Britain I have no chance. It’s a bit shorter than I would normally like right now. Please tell me, do I look awful? I can’t stop worrying and it’s taking over my entire life.

Why do we always want the opposite to what we have. I have thin flat hair that I’m always trying to add volume and body too whereas my friend has thick curly hair that she tries to flatten and straighten! 😝

Oooohhh you've got the Marion Cotillard bob! My curls are tight and poofy and generally massive - I would love your hairstyle but it just wouldn't work on me. Enjoy the French vibes, you look great 🙂

I’m a hairdresser and you have no idea how many times I’ve been shown this as an inspo pic 😄 I do my best, though most clients don’t have the hair for it - but OP does.

I manually curl my hair a few times a week in the hope of it looking as nice as yours!

Wow I can’t tell you how happy it has made me today to hear all this positivity about my hair! Negative comments from a few people really did make me paranoid. I used to love my curly hair, it was a big part of ‘me’. I became thoroughly ashamed of it over the years, mainly because of my family, who I am no longer in contact with.
im going to reclaim my curly hair and wear it with pride!

Oh it's cute! I have spent years encouraging my kinky/ lightly wavy hair towards those kind of curls - I'm so jealous of yours.
It took me until I was about 30 though to not hate my nose, so I absolutely get the obsessing about how 'awful' part of you is that other people think is at worst totally fine and at best actually rather great.

Lovely curls... they are like my Mum's who has awesome curly hair and she's now in her 70s and it still looks gorgeous. I got the frizz version unfortunately and still have trouble accepting my natural hair, which is darft as I have a dog to walk and an allotment and spend half of my life in the rain
