Interesting that Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neil are back in Sweden and appeared at the State Opening of Parliament. Seems like the move, announced in spring 2023, has finally gone ahead.

The carol service wouldn't really be the same with a pre programmed keyboard.
Im sure it is quite stressful organising abig event even with lots of staff. I hope Kate isn't pressured into too many events.

I may be mistaken, but I thought Kate had only played the piano once in her three carol services to date? I don’t think it’s a requirement! 😀

She did but I think it was a pre-recorded segment rather than live at the service?

I'm on the fence about Meghan's trousers, the colour is good for her and they fit well around the waist and hips, even the width is ok. But I don't like that length and I can't decide whether they need to be long because that width would look strange shorter or not

They don’t need to be much shorter. Not so much that it would make them look like ankle flappers 😆

Fred and Mary have officially left Dannebrog, marking the end of the sailing season.

It's just been announced that the Icelandic president will visit Denmark in October; the first State visit since Fred became King.

I think Mary will probably wear the emerald tiara again.

Ohh, the shoes and bag needed to match but be in a contrasting colour to the suit, in my inexpert view. Maybe red or fuchsia. Emerald even.

Pale pink would have worked too.

I like it better when shoes don't match bag. It's a bit more fresh when you're wearing an outfit that can look quite corporate if you're not careful. It's less prescriptive (because a suit is already quite prescriptive).

Not that matching bag and shoes always looks wrong - not at all. But here I think it's better this way.

Mary's trouser suit is lovely but agree with pp that contrasting shoes would have really popped. I like the idea of emerald or bright pink/red.

Nothing against a bright pop, tbf, and lots of colours would have gone well. But anything that is done too often becomes a bit meh for me so I really dislike seeing a bright shoe all the time. It could also be that I find the scarf tied in her hair quite charming and the bag goes nicely with that. Or maybe I'm just in a sedate mood today!

That's a bit subtle for Max! Quite a pretty colour, though. I like Beatrice's polka dot dress, but am not keen on the jacket, the fit doesn't seem right.
