Skincare for nearly 11 year old with spotty forehead

Please could I have some advice for DD who has developed spots over the summer? She doesn't wear make up or anything so I think it's probably hormonal given other bodily changes but poor thing suddenly has loads of spots on her forehead. Her skin doesn't look oily and they're not anywhere else, just her forehead. It needs to be easy as she's pretty reluctant to even shower or wash her face (ADHD struggles). Happy to pay if it's something that works I just feel very clueless in this area! Thanks so much

Do you think she could get into a routine of washing her face? I'd say you want to start as simple/gentle as possible and a cleanser seems like a sensible thing to try first.

In terms of actual treatments, benzoyl peroxide would be the first over the counter treatment to try, but it can be drying so would possibly need to look at getting a moisturiser, or washing it off a few mins after applying. It's probably going to be more effective than trying a variety of different skincare ingredients though. There's so many options that each will/won't help for each individual person and if she's not interested in building a multistep routine (which I'd discourage anyways at 11) then it could take forever to figure out the best combo. Whereas benzoyl peroxide is a well studied pretty effective medication.

Easiest option in terms of application, (which seems to be a tiktok trend at the moment, but I've looked into it and does actually appear to have some legitimate use for killing acne bacteria) is hypochlorous acid. Comes in a spray bottle so just needs spraying on the skin and left to dry, it's gentler than benzoyl so shouldn't cause dryness/redness. It's cheap too, just want to look for baby sterilising spray, or first aid sterilising spray.

My 10 year old son is the same, we have started to use Bare Addiction products which are supposed to be better on younger skin. When I can get him to use them consistently (he is haphazard at best!), it does seem to help with clearing his skin.
