New jeans

I’ve put on a bit of weight recently and need new jeans (yes I’m trying to lose weight but I gained it partly from going on anti depressant medications).

So far 2 styles I bought from Tesco F&F and Tu Sainsburys in 14 have been too small. But I got a pair of long Tesco F&F jeans before in a 12 regular (can’t see style) which fit well. You used to be able to see reviews and order on Tesco or through Next when they sold them but you can’t do that now. Tu Sainsburys you can see reviews.

I just want cheap jeans which will look good in the interim period but not too expensive. So I guess my choices are also:-

George at Asda
Primark
Next
M&S
new look
peacock
river island
ASOS

So which of the above would you choose?

I'm not sure you can choose a supplier, as jeans really are a clothing item you have to try and one style, but two different tones, can be very different in fit, as nothing seems to be made in the same factory, or certainly not to exactly the same pattern anymore. I have a mix and that's because the styles / fit are so different. I have a pair of straight leg from Community Clothing, mum style from Primark, high waist from M&S, wide leg flare from M&S and just ordered tie waist / elastic jeans joggers from George ASDA. I have a tummy, 30" leg, flat bum. My favourites are definitely the flares from M&S, surprised me that the style would suit this size 18, but they do and flattering. You don't have to spend a great deal, just work your way through the sizes and don't be afraid of the new styles either. You could add Uniqlo to the list and depending on your body shape men's jeans too, as often more forgiving around the waist, with better weight material and cheaper!

I ordered a t shirt and jeggings from Asda and they fit very well. I have been really impressed with their clothing range.

New Look seem to work well for me but jeans are a very individual thing, you might just have to try a few pairs.
(although I do like a pair of jeggings as well, esp good if you think you might go up or down abit in weight. I have a few pairs from a JD Williams catalogue and the bootleg ones are particularly nice).

Thanks all, think it’ll be a matter of trial and error!

I like the M&S flare jeans with a deep hem. I think I have a version of these

M&S or H&M. Even better in the Sale!
I find that cheaper jeans than this are the skinny jeans sort fat are tiny, like you say, give bad bum & tend to fall down like saggy tights, and get baggy knees too.
A thicker denim & high waistband is a requirement to keep extra weight in check, I think.

Typo there with “fat” but a good one!
