Blusher oxidising?

Is this a thing?

I've used Nars blusher for years (in Sex Appeal which is very pale peach because I am very pale) but now when I use it, no matter how lightly, it looks much darker and browner within about 10 minutes.

A close friend recently asked me if I'd changed the colour of my foundation (no) and that was a gentle hint that it looked 'browner'.

I'm worried I'm looking like a clown and it's harder to apply any less.

Is this colour change a thing?

Sounds like you need to find something ejse

But does blusher change colour? That's the point.

Loads of make up oxidises. Or it could be reacting to something else you’re using

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 01/09/2024 18:17

How old is your blusher? Have you been using the same one for years?

fuffymeloncauli · 01/09/2024 18:25

Is it old?

Have you changed anything else? Moisturiser, serum, primer maybe?

Blueballetpumps · 01/09/2024 19:40

It's new. I opened this one about 4 weeks ago.
The downside of Nars blushers is that they are very fine and loose in the pan and therefore they only last for about 4-6 months.

I'm just puzzled because when I apply it, it looks natural but 10 mins later it looks much brighter.

Nothing changed with my make up.

I'm going to have to apply it more carefully and just use less perhaps.

Not helpful in the meantime, but when you need to replace it, go into the shop, swatch the tester onto a tissue and your skin. Go away(into daylight too) for a few minutes, and see if it changes colour on your skin compared to the tissue.
This works for me with foundation anyway!

Have you changed moisturiser or any other skincare?

Nars have recently reformulated their blushers, maybe it's the new formula? Is it in a squarer box than previously?
