Getting rid of upper lip hair - how??

I used to use cream but it irritates my skin now. Waxing at home never seems to work well. What else is there?

I use nail scissors. Ours have a slightly curved blade and I use it pointing out so I don't cut myself

SummerGardenFlowers · 28/08/2024 10:48

I sit in bed and pluck away mindlessly with tweezers while I'm watching TV

BitEmbaressinInnit · 28/08/2024 10:50

£50 IPL machine from amazon. Mines completely gone now

WhatsitWiggle · 28/08/2024 10:51

Braun Lumea - expensive but I use it elsewhere too and now don't need to pay for waxing so it's paid for itself in the first year

something2say · 28/08/2024 10:53

Mirror and tiny scissors, once per week.

Waxing led to spots. I didn't bother with cream. But I don't like the moustache I'd get if I didn't trim the hairs, so yeah that's what I do.

EmmaStone · 28/08/2024 10:55

Threading. Not entirely painless, but very effective and quick. I haven't learnt how to do it myself, when I get my brows done I ask her to do it at the same time.

HousedInMySoul · 28/08/2024 10:57

One of those spring things that's rips all the hair out at the roots. Pretty painless when you get used to it, cheap and quick

Moier · 28/08/2024 10:57

Myself and daughters use these.

Getting rid of upper lip hair - how??
DramaAlpaca · 28/08/2024 11:01

I use something similar to the one @Moier linked to. I got it in Primark for a few quid and it does the job surprisingly well.

floridaidea · 28/08/2024 15:57

Dermoplaning tool from Superdrug.

WeRateSquirrels · 28/08/2024 16:00

I also use something similar to @Moier and @DramaAlpaca .

Waxing/threading/springy thing - spots
Cream - skin irritation
Dermaplaner - too fiddly for round mouth area
IPL - too blonde
Bleach - blonde anyway and that absolutely does not render it invisible

gingercat02 · 28/08/2024 16:04

Epilator with a facial attachment. Makes your eyes water a bit but done in 30 seconds

gardenmusic · 28/08/2024 16:37

I am dark haired, so was able to have it lasered. Took a year of call backs, further and further spaced.
I was told it was like someone pinging an elastic band on you. It is not. It is like someone stubbing a cigarette out on you.
Having said that, I'd do it again.

silverjackal · 28/08/2024 16:41

Electrolysis. Simple and permanent solution, can't imagine why you would bother with anything else

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I’ve had electrolysis over the years and I still have lip hair. I have it removed every three weeks by threading. I take paracetamol an hour before

ChuckMater · 28/08/2024 18:16

I have mine waxed monthly with the beautician who does my eyebrows

EatMoreFibre · 28/08/2024 18:18

I have pale olive skin and dark hair - bleaching renders my hair invisible. Waxing just breaks the hairs and phillips lumea didn't work for me.

Some great suggestions on this thread.

unmemorableusername · 28/08/2024 18:18

Tweezers?

I thought this was the norm?

MamasitaGringita · 28/08/2024 18:23

Shave it

NewGreenDuck · 28/08/2024 18:34

Cheap IPL off Amazon, and occasionally epilator. Much easier than using tweezers, gone in about 30 seconds.

SanMarzano · 28/08/2024 18:36

They need to invent IPL technology for blonde/white hair 🥲

I dermaplane with these: disposable razors

Takes about ten seconds after I brush my teeth each morning.

I occasionally let it grow out a bit (2 days 🙄) and pluck the really dark ones as it’s satisfying 😄

Same! I dermaplane once a week. Doesn’t grow back darker or thicker. Makes your skin so smooth - makeup (if you wear it) applies so much more nicely on the skin too. I’m very oily so generally need powder but when I had peach fuzz the powder would look quite obvious. For upper lip, just pull it taut and shave away!
