Im in the throes of losing weight and hope to drop a further 2 stone by end of August so have thrown everything out that is too big for me. I currently own 3 pairs of jeans, various jersey type tops, a few blouses and a pair of black smart trousers which I think are actually too big now as well. I need to smarten and brighten up for the spring but dont want to spend a lot. I have a biggish bust (34g) and blobby tummy but generally hourglass shaped as have smallish waist. Im 5'4, dark hair, pale skin and blue eyes

Please find me a wardrobe

Jampot, you could be me except I am slightly taller! I have just bought a long denim skirt for the spring (can wear a belt when I have lost a bit more so it should last longer)and have orderd a few pairs of shoes to try and make my limited clothes look different.
I am watching with interest to see the advice wise mumsnetters come up with!

i was thinking of using a personal shopper but worry that they will make me spend too much. Good point about using belts though

M&S have some nice dresses for summer but think I need to tone my arms first

Hi Jampot, I am hourglass too with about a stone to lose. Have you seen the 50's style full skirts in the shops..they really make the most of a small waist and skim out over the hips..I got a cheapie in Dotty P which I'll wear with t-shirts and gladiators..if the sun ever comes out

Jampot - just wanted to say that I have used personal shoppers in Debenhams a couple of times and they were not at all pushy. It was great to just sit there with a coffee whilst she ran around finding me things I would never have dreamed of trying on myself. Really would recommend them
