I’m mid 30’s have a toddler and noticed I’m aging and figured it’s about time I look after my skin and tips. What should I be buying that’s not expensive from the high street ideally and how to use it would be great.

I have neither dry nor greasy skin and don’t know where to start.
i do where foundation perhaps once or twice a week.

Boots No 7

Buy their retinol ( just use it once a week to start with) and one of the No 7 day and night cream

Buy Ren AHA acid or Alpha H liquid gold the latter is strong so just use once a week. It will help to resurface and smooth your skin as will the REN

They also do nice serums

I use their future renew damage reversal when I'm not using Tret

I like the pink restore and renew range which I prefer to their protect and perfect range

Brilliant! Thanks both. I’m sure I’ve got a number 7 voucher here somewhere too

I think the Aldi serum that costs 2.99 is as good as, if not better, than the Boots one at 30 quid plus. They are both nice though.

Start with the basics - a proper cleanser, moisturiser and SPF. If you’re wearing makeup, use makeup remover (eg micellar water or cleansing balm) to get it off before using a face wash as the second step (wipes don’t get your skin properly clean).

If you want to take things up a step, you can try a serum before applying moisturiser to target specific concerns, eg vitamin C for dullness, retinol for ageing. It doesn’t have to be a complex routine but if you’re consistent you’ll see good results.
