Best flip flops with arch support?

As I’m getting older I’m finding that I get knee pain if I wear standard, flat flip flops so I’m looking for something with a bit of arch support.

I’ve seen FitFlops and Archie’s footwear.

Does anyone have any experience of either of these or can suggest another similar brand?

@NowYouSee I wear the Birkenstocks Arizona (Olive coloured suede) and they are so good for arch support - if you've not worn anything as supportive they do take a week to get used to but I can't recommend anything better.

I love think sandels for arch support.

(Though off to Google hoka recovery flip flops!)

@BigDahliaFan I can’t read the article, it’s behind a paywall. Can you tell me which Tevas were recommended?

I’m off work next week so I think I will head into our nearest city and try as many on as I can.

Vionic flip flops here. I have the Tide II in pewter. They've already lasted 5 years, they have good arch support AND a proper cupped heel. Your feet don't slide about and they are squishy enough whilst providing support...

So the article basically says get sandals/fit flops that are right for your foot issues
"However, some people’s anatomy favours a higher heel incline; for example if you have a high foot-arch, a 1cm to 2cm ramp can be more comfortable.
If you want a good all-rounder, Smart recommends Teva-style sandals over flip flops: “As they offer numerous fastenings and well-structured soles. If you require further support, such as for over-pronation, Vionic sandals are a perfect choice.”
I get Achilles probs so need a bit of a heel to toe drop... Birkenstock are too flat for me and not enough give. Oofos and other rocker type squishy slides and flip flops too much pressure on ankle

FWIW my Teva's are 30 years old and will last another 30 I think but the ones made back then had much better soles IMHO. I'd look for an older pair on ebay if I wanted another pair - we have at least 3 other more recent pairs of Teva's in the family and 2 of those were bought on ebay.

Reef Cushion - very good arch support for a "normal" flipflop

Old Teva's

I just got a pair of Light Feet as they're cheaper than Archies but seem to be the same thing. Love them, am using them as my in house shoes instead of going barefoot which just aggravates my feet. Would definitely recommend.
