Glaize stick on gel nails

Has anyone used these? I keep getting ads on Facebook saying they were on Dragons den.
I can't have gels or powder, every time I've tried I've had to grow out the damage and my nails are pretty strong at the moment so I wouldn't risk it again.
These look good but I'm wary of a gimmick

Following as they look too good to be true!

I have been using them for a while. They are very easy to use once you get the hang of it, and last OK - I tend to get a week out of them. Sometimes I have to replace one or two (you get spares of each colour) but that is because I use my nails as tools. Try not to soak them in the bath or when you do the dishes (use gloves - not in the bath of course). I like them as I find polish chips within 24 hours, and gel/acrylic ruin my nails. The worse that happens with these is yu have some glue left when you peel them off - this easily comes off with a bit of nail polish remover, or I just soak them in hot water and kind of pick it off. It goes a bit like old fashioned PVA glue so easy to just pull off.

I tried these for the first time this week. Put them on Sunday eve and removed them today.

They probably would have lasted longer, but they were starting to lift a bit and were annoying me. No damage to my nails underneath.

I rarely paint my nails, so used them to get a neat finish for a special occasion. They did the job! My only small niggle with them is that my nails have deep ridges, so the Glaize nails stuck on well but the ridges showed up - which wouldn’t happen with varnish. Apparently this wasn’t noticeable to anyone but me though!

I just got the standard size pack and found sizes to suit all my nails. Worth a try - I bought two sets so I’ll give them another go. For the price, they were worth it for me, but it hasn’t converted me to someone who has their nails “done” often.

I’ve used them quite a few times.

I like them. They last about a week - so less than proper gel nails, but they come off very easily with no damage underneath.

I tend to use them once or twice a month eg if I’ve got a night out, weekend away etc.

I think if you’re someone who wants their nails done all the time they might not work as you’d be doing them every week and they probably wouldn’t be cost effective compared to proper gels.

However if you just want to have nice nails now and then they are great. Easy to apply and remove and no damage. I don’t like using gels just occasionally as my nails always feel damaged afterwards.

I think the colour availability could be improved but sure that will come as they grow as a business.

Also, I pay a bit extra for the custom fit nails. It’s with if for me as the standard ones were too wide for my nails and so peeled at the sides (where they stuck to skin rather than nail IYSWIM).

I saw a woman applying these on the train and I was fascinated. They looked really professional
I'm going to give it a go.

balzamico · 20/11/2024 17:33

It's taken me forever (I am the op)
But I have finally ordered these, excited to try them, any tips for application would be appreciated!

I use them and like them. Would say they only really last a week and some colours are better than others. I get standard fit because it means I have spares if the odd one gets loose.

hoarahloux · 20/11/2024 21:25

Seem very expensive for what they are! I get Lily & Fox wraps for £2 a set and they last a week or two. For the price of Glaize I'd expect a much longer lasting set. And more variety of colours/patterns.

WigglyVonWaggly · 24/11/2024 09:01

I bought two pairs and I’m so impressed! They said in a email that they’ve just reformulated them so they are longer lasting. So far, I’ve had ten full days out of them without replacing any. I’m on day 11 and I could probably squeeze a day or two more from them or just replace the odd one. But, as my nails have grown there’s that gap at the cuticle now and I like them to look newly done so I’m going to apply the second pair.

My tip is buff your nails first and apply them last thing at night before bed. They then set undisturbed overnight with no handwashing etc. After that, they are as solid as you can get. I have never had polish last more than 3-4 days even when it’s done in a salon.

The only issue I had is trimming it with my nail clipper - it’s an OPI one that retains the cut nail so it doesn’t ping around the room. As the excess length was sticky, it all got caught in my clippers and I had to try to clear it with an orange stick. It took a lot of filing down to get the smooth edge because I couldn’t trim it short enough. So, you need bog-standard clippers!

They are on 3-4-2 again for Black Friday if anyone fancies trying them. I bought 6 more pairs but this time ordered custom fit as it will save time if I don’t have to work out which width to use and which way up.

I’m converted. I much prefer this to booking a salon appointment and then having to book another to get gels removed.

whereswaldo · 30/11/2024 12:17

I just tried these for the first time last night- was persuaded by the Black Friday offer.

By the time I got to the last nail I’d really got the hang of it and I’m v impressed.

I used to have monthly shellac gels but got so annoyed whenever they chipped and the hassle of salon appointment to sort . never had dark gels either as it’s so obvious when they grow out- this is a great alternative for me. Can sort myself and no skills in painting required!

i won’t have them all the time but perfect for the Christmas season I think.

Isabel4000 · 01/12/2024 11:15

I tried glaize twice. Was quite excited by my first set - the only drawback at the time was getting the extra length right. I filed them off as per the instructions - but the stickers shrunk back a bit exposing nail tip. With the second set - I thought I'd cut them instead. This didn't work well either... filing them downwards onto the nail tip forces more adhesion. Cutting them just allowed them to peel off a bit. Frustrating... but they were still 'okay'... each set lasted 7-9 days. You are meant to file your nail bed properly (which felt slightly as time consuming as a manicure)...

However... massive down side... my very very strong healthy nails have become frankly awful. I have had nails splitting at peeling so much i've had to cut back almost all of them to the quick. This has never happened before. I'm worried something in the glue has completely ruined my nails. Whilst i've happily avoided the slight damage of gel nails - the v effective glue being trapped under the stickers on my nail has absolutely ruined my nails. 6 weeks after removal, the top of my nails is still peeling off. Very interested to see if anyone else has experienced the same.

Close up of Glaize nails (Be More Berry, custom fit) in case anyone wonders what they look like. They don’t look like stickers.

@Isabel4000 my nails were destroyed by shellac but these have been totally fine. No damage or dryness at all. You can apply handcream and cuticle oil with them, if that would help. Wonder if you’re allergic?

I was totally impressed with these nails and so were my friends. They thought I’d had gel nails done. I don’t do gel nails because of the damage they do. The Glaize nails looked great, had a bit of a job trimming the ones on my non dominant hand. Lasted 10-14 days. However, now I’ve used them a couple of times, my nail bed looks very dry and a bit rough. I’m not sure it’s the glue or the glue remover that is the problem. I will probably use the couple of packs I have already but I’m reluctant to re-order.

Be careful as it may be a scam, using fake celebrity and programme recommendations.

MamaMel11 · 16/09/2025 08:58

Don't waste your time! Bought 3 sets, followed instructions exactly - been doing my own gels for years. The stick one come of straight away and don't withstand any basic water. Really poor customer service, they would not refund me my money without me returning item and paying for it myself. Then they only refunded me £12 out of the 3 sets I sent back £12 each. Even though I sent them evidence of the residue all over my hands/destroyed nails - they wouldn't even refund me them. They also take as long as gels so it's really a pointless exercise. Don't bother!

ExquisitelyDecorating · 16/09/2025 09:06

I tried them about a year ago, despite me sending the correct photos in for sizing they were a terrible fit and looked as if a 5 year old had cut fake nails out of paper and stuck them on. However when I sent them photos they refunded me immediately no quibble.
