I'm 35 and you look much much younger than me. Anyone saying 40 is blind, so old they've forgotten, or spiteful.

Exactly this. Absolutely no need for Botox or any of that stuff which just looks awfully artificial. You look great. Not that I think there’s anything wrong with looking your age. I’m 55. I look 55. I’m post-menopausal and feel more confident and kick-ass than I ever did in younger years!

People saying 40 are being deliberately disingenuous because they are jealous and there is a culture on Mumsnet of women wanting to tear each other down. Basically. So if anyone asks something like this, some women think they deserve an obnoxious response.

Nonsense. Why would people be jealous of an internet stranger.

I guessed 40 and gave reasons why (crows feet present, for example), but I also made sure to compliment her good skin.

I honestly don’t believe women have to look much younger than their age to be attractive. I was watching the documentary on Liz Taylor yesterday. No one would deny that she was an absolute beauty but she always looked older than her age.

My immediate knee jerk response was 35 to 40. I think it's because we subconsciously don't expect someone younger than that to care enough to post.
Also, for many, the immediate sense is this is a fishing for compliments exercise. When you said your real age, I thought yeah you look 32.
Can you see how futile these things are in light of that?

In person changes everything - the way someone speaks, their demeanor for example.

When it comes to your appearance, just see what you have; it's good and will be appealing to many. Just enjoy it. These things are rarely well received, especially if someone is attractive - you are!

You look great, definitely not 40s! I’d say you look 27-33-ish if I had to put a number on it. Not sure why you’d even question it to be honest, I am similar in age to you and think (or hope at least!) that I look similar age wise.

I wasn't specifically referring to your post tbh. But yes plenty of people are jealous of internet strangers and / or are miserable so saying mean things about other people makes them feel better. You only have to look on AIBU to see that increasingly on MN, people are nasty just because they can be.
