Too much green?

DeclansAFeckingDream · 12/08/2024 17:13

I have a wedding in a couple of months and have a bottle green dress for it. I don't want to wear a headpiece or anything - I have short hair and they're really not me. Would these earrings and necklace be too much green? I'm told matching colours are the way to go, but I don't want to be too much, although the jewellery itself isn't huge. Any pointers to anything better would be appreciated, I don't have a huge budget so 'real' stones are out for me.

I don't have any jewellery advice but that green dress is utterly beautiful 💕

Would these work?

These are the shoes. I bought a long burgandy wool coat (the wedding is Shetland and it will be cold) but I'm a bit worried about looking too Christmassy with the colours. 😂

No these are small I think they will look great! Can we see the dress? I think this is the one time they should match - I like sets.

VenusClapTrap · 13/08/2024 22:32

That’s a great dress. I like the original earrings. I wouldn’t put pearls with it.

A plain gold bangle/armlet would go well instead of a necklace.

TheSquareMile · 14/08/2024 01:17

@DeclansAFeckingDream

It's a lovely dress.

I wonder whether the dress with just the earrings could be the way to go.

I always feel a bit overladen if I wear earrings and a necklace, so I just wear really nice earrings and make a special effort with my hair, make-up and nails.

greengreyblue · 14/08/2024 08:35

Thought you were gf ping to post a huge green ‘Pru Leith’ type statement necklace. That’s fine, they’re tiny!

Becky37 · 14/08/2024 09:04

Totally agree with @Purplecatshopaholic

Long but potentally stoneless gold earrings could look very classy . Definitely no necklace but a gold bracelet or bangles?

DeclansAFeckingDream · 14/08/2024 17:07

The problem with long or bold earrings is that I always feel that I look a bit Sue Pollard, who I'm sure is very nice, but not the look I'm going for. 😂

Dress is gorgeous and I like the earrings too. Agree about no necklace but think a nice bracelet would set if off.

RogueFemale · 14/08/2024 23:06

The dress is lovely and you don't need a necklace, but like the dress is styled on the model, bigger earrings would look good.

Matching jewellery is fine. There's a reason why you can buy sets/a parure of jewellery...

I don't think those earrings and necklace are wrong at all, but check the necklace length on the dress, it might get lost. If you love it and could wear it with other things I'd ask a jeweller to add another ring along the chain so you can wear it at a shorter length for the dress.

I agree it's all really lovely together, not too much green at all, adding a ring so you can shorten the length of necklace for that dress would be ideal, good thinking @TragicMuse

Love those @RogueFemale .

I'm tempted but have no idea where I'd wear them!

Mumwithbaggage · 15/08/2024 21:06

Lovely dress - I bought it in red for an event I didn't get to go to in the end so looing forward to wearing it!
