Cream cleanser which removes double wear?

Is there such a thing? I currently use the Lancôme cream cleanser as I find water tightens my face and makes me feel uncomfortable. It doesn't really work though. Any suggestions for a cream cleanser which will fully remove double wear? Thanks

I use a micellar water first then a cream cleanser which seems to work best and doesn't dry my skin

If you are open to a balm Elemis cleansing balm is brilliant at melting make up away. Cleansing oils will be good for double wear too but always double cleanse with double wear it’s a tough one to remove.

CeraVe hydration cleanser with a wash cloth. Body Shop camomile balm also works well.

I used to use ELDW. I've always used a balm cleanser washed off with a cloth in the shower, followed by a glycolic acid on a cotton pad. I have dry skin and this doesn't tighten my skin though I do follow immediately with serums and moisturiser.

Another vote for The Body Shop camomile cleaner but you need to use it as the first step in a double cleansing routine (which I would recommend for anyone wearing foundation anyway, especially Double Wear).

@spikeandbuffy24 thank you. Which products do you use?

@Thumberline I am open to trying them but I am worried it will dry my skin out. Which oils do you use? Thanks

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor thanks I love their moisturiser so I'll have a look at this one.

Pai Lightwork Cleansing Oil is fantastic for removing make up and so gentle on your skin. They do a cream cleanser too but I usually just double cleanse with the oil one. It’s not cheap but you don’t need to use that much.

My youngest daughter uses The Inkey List Oat cleanser and she likes it for removing make up but I found it quite drying.

Emma Hardie balm is also really good.

I use Nip+Fab cream cleanser with hyaluronic acid (not sure if I have spelt it right). It’s very gentle and not stripping but does a good job. I wipe off with a muslin and rinse, then follow with one of their cleansing pads. I use the mandelic + charcoal one as it suits my skin but they have a range. My skin has improved so much I have stopped wearing foundation and just wear a tinted sunscreen.

Bioderma micellar and soap and glory peaches and clean

Agree with @KoalaDrama that the Pai Cleansing Oil
is good. My personal favourite is Caudalie Cleansing oil.

Within less than a minute the oil melts all make up off my face. It’s perfect for my dry skin as it’s made from nourishing plant oils.

I wear make up daily, and one bottle of this easily lasts for 6 months. Very good value.

I use a Cerave foaming cleanser after using a makeup removing balm.

I was using their cleanser for dry skin but I've noticed a increase in clogged pores around my nose, so will probably switch back to their salicylic cleanser (I have combination ski).

Stripybasket · 12/08/2024 13:41

@countdowntonap thank you. Do you have to remove these with water or can you use a cloth/cotton wool? Splashing my face really dries out my skin you see.

I'd double cleanse, first with an oil and then with a normal cleanser and a face cloth

I've just started using the inkey list balm cleanser. I use the ordinary's glycolic acid, sometimes their niacinimide, their hyaluronic acid, then elizabeth arden's nighttime miracle balm moisturiser (I use this day and night). For foundation I moved to the estee lauder futurist stuff. V light, moisturising, and has spf 40. I think it's easier to apply than eldw. And also I have on occasion gone to bed without removing it as my skin is just so much happier with it that I don't have any consequences or get to the end of the day eager to remove it.
