Overnight smile braces?

SunnyWindowCrackWokeMeUp · 08/08/2024 00:11

Has anyone used overnight smile for invisible braces. They are considerably cheaper than the other ones, which makes them potentially affordable, but def don't want to waste money if they're no good.

Thanks

Yes! A colleague used them.

Are they a company where you don't see a dentist or orthodontist face to face? I personally wouldn't do that - I had x rays taken before Invisalign to make sure my teeth and roots were ok to be moved.

Agree with pp. X-rays essential. Plus when I had Invisalign some teeth needed filing to make room for them to move. Dont know if this is one of those schemes where you don’t see anyone face to face but if it is I would avoid. Also seeing a dentist throughout the treatment allows for tweaks and feedback etc

@NannyThursday how was their experience do you know?

The thing is - I had braces when I was a teen and then stupidly didn't listen to the advice to keep wearing my retainer and so my front teeth have reverted a little bit, which is super visible because they're at the front but definitely not major movement needed to make them straight.
I couldn't afford Invisalign anyway, but even if I could I would baulk at paying £3k for such a small (but significant for me) adjustment.

I kind of think with these things you get what you pay for. I did Invisalign as moving my teeth for me warranted going through a qualified expert. Most places will do interest free credit if the upfront cost is an issue.

BeMintBee · 08/08/2024 12:42

Honestly think you would be crazy to use them! It’s all done based on a home kit they send you to do the initial impressions of your teeth. You don’t get even an initial face to face consultation let alone someone checking your treatment plan as you go.

sorry but absolute madness! The only person I know who has done this wasn’t happy with the end result and is now doing Invisalign.

Pretty rubbish really - how wonky are your teeth?

Theirs look no better than before, tbh.

You get what you pay for, imo. 😬

SunnyWindowCrackWokeMeUp · 08/08/2024 14:22

Ok, good - thanks all. Thought it was probs a bad idea but wanted to check. Maybe I'll look at interest free payment plans

I’ve ready quite a few positive reviews on them. The cost really appeals to me but I obviously would prefer to see a dentist if I could afford Invisalign
