Hi ladies:

I am speaking at a conference in September. Chemistry related.

It’s my first time and thinking about what to wear!

I am fancying a suit tbh but I don’t know where to start!

Any ideas welcome!

I am early 30s, 5 ft 7, slender build

Thank you 💐

Not a chemist but I’ve spoken at a few conferences these past couple of years, varying between an intimate 40 to over 1000 people.

What type of conference/talk? Formal or casual? Individual talk or panel? Seated or standing? Will you be Britney-style headset, handheld, lapel or static microphone?

At your age I always did dresses but not if you are going to need to have tech guys attaching walk about microphones to you: in which case a waistband is important. Where will you be? I went somewhere hot once but forgot to consider the venue would be air conditioned and ended up freezing. An emergency scarf/wrap and tights always good to have with you! And yes, a
