Non-sweaty undies

I've been really suffering from groin rash and under-boob rash. Went to GP and got hydrocortisone which has helped calm it down a bit but I can't fully get rid of the problem. I'm overweight and menopausal and - even when it's not particularly hot - my groin is just so sweaty. My skin has become ultra-sensitive too. I can no longer tolerate my trusted M&S knickers- that fancy leg elastic (looks like lace but is actually razor-like elastic) is awful. I've tried shorts but they just scrunch up into my groin and I feel like I'm wearing a nappy. I've tried men's boxers - much the same result. I go commando at home under PJ bottoms but still need to leave the house to work etc. I have some full briefs from Snag which at least have covered elastic which is better than the other fancy stuff. I also have Snag chub rub shorts but don't think it's a good idea to wear them without knickers as they're just like tights. I prefer cotton but realise that manmade fibres dry/wick better than cotton, but I feel like a big sweaty nylon mess.

Help!

  • any creams / powders I could use in the groin area that won't irriitate my very delicate lady bits (don't want to swap one problem for another and end up with thrush) and which I could also use under my boobs
  • any nice pants with gentle leg elastic.
  • any chub rub shorts which you can wear without knickers underneath

Yours sweatily

Zinc and castor oil (nappy cream) and Aloe Vera gel I find are good for skin rashes in general. Anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and anti fungal.

Try bamboo underwear. Sweat wicking, hypoallergenic and breathable but not cheap.

I suffered dreadfully with the under boob soreness the past couple of years needing vast amounts of canistan but this year touch wood I've not, since I went and got fitted for bras. Getting the boobs up and off the chest wall has made a huge difference. Sure I still get sweaty but nothing like I was suffering

For my lady parts , Its rather much the same thing, I make sure my knickers fit. Ive lost weight and Ive got perfectly good knickers here, but they are two sizes two big and they move about causing chafing. I got some lovely knickers from matalan this year, just bog standard big knickers, but they fit. Not tight around the legs or waist, the gusset stays where it should. They aint pretty but comfortable they are

I found sudacream helped with the soreness around the crutch and athletes foot powder dusted under the boobs

Daktacort cream is hydrocortisone and anti fungal and is available over the counter.

Intimissi do lovely soft cotton cycling shorts. Running knickers wick sweat and are designed not to chafe. Mine are from New Balance via TKMax.

I go the other way and wear thongs to avoid chafing, but I know lots of people hate them. You have to size up to avoid flossing your arse

My gp prescribed dermol 500 to use instead of soap/shower gel for using in leg creases in the shower. It's antibacterial. And then a combined antifungal/steroid cream for applying after afterwards.

I wear asda midi pants
