Have you worn all your summer clothes this year?

I bought a few new things about six months ago and haven’t managed to wear them yet this summer as it always seems to be raining! I bought two skirts and a jersey jumpsuit from Hush which are still unworn. I’ve got a pair of culottes and put them on yesterday but it started raining just as I was going out so I changed into a jumper and jeggings. Now I’m in the market for a light jacket I can wear in the rain 😐 I’m not sure how much summer is left now. I’m sure it was a bit darker last night!

Have you managed to wear your summer clothes much this year? Maybe you are going on holiday which I am sadly not!

No! I'm going on holiday tomorrow and had to get it all out. Bought a couple of new dresses and haven't worn them either.

I bought a dress and wore it with a woolly tank top over the top! Maybe we will get a late summer heatwave, you never know!

few summer clothes worn so far here....

Hummingbird75 · 25/07/2024 18:39

I am wearing summer dresses with cardigans and it was hot today, abeit sometimes overcast.

I will not give up. Although I am quietly peeking at the new autumn wear arriving today with a slightly heavy heart.

We do have six weeks to go.....🙏

marshmallowfinder · 25/07/2024 18:41

I usually do as I'm roasting hot most days throughout the year. Short sleeves, thin materials.

CrushingOnRubies · 25/07/2024 18:46

Nope! Too chilly.

henlake7 · 25/07/2024 18:51

Im in the south east so managed to wear a couple of bits.
I'm hoping there is more sunshine coming though as I'm waiting on several summer maxi dresses from Vinted I'd love to get to wear.

I got a skirt out to wear today, went into the wardrobe to get a T-shirt to match and was surprised to only find two T-shirts hanging up.
I know there are some dirty clothes in the laundry basket, but it is at most half full so there can’t be more than 2 T-shirts in there.
I then realised that I had put my T-shirts in the wardrobe in the spare room last autumn. I went to look and found eight T-shirts I have not worn at all this summer.

Alwaystimeforacupoftea · 25/07/2024 19:54

Yes, all of the usual suspects, but I get them out in April and just start wearing them, it's mainly long cotton white skirts and dresses, I wear them with trainers or even tan boots if the weather is bad, and layers on the top, so linen shirt or jacket. I always try to get the summer colours a good wear, as I know that come September I'll be immediately back in black! I don't wear strappy sundresses without a cover-up anyway as too pale.

TaurusBull · 25/07/2024 20:12

It's been quite warm and humid for us here in the SE so yes I've worn a fair few summer clothes and bought a few more dresses.

I like wearing dresses around the house and was feeling really warm so when I saw some bargain dresses I couldn't resist

I was wearing old dresses some of which my DD pointed had seen better days so I've finally binned some

GettingStuffed · 25/07/2024 20:19

No but that's probably because I have too much.
I have a dress that I'm keeping for my wedding anniversary so I hope it's a warm day.

Moved from midlands to north east Scotland two years ago. It’s a bit of a climate shock. They are swimming in the river and full summer clothes at 18c. That’s long sleeve weather for me.
Worn summer clothes plenty but mostly I’ve needed long sleeves. I’ve now stopped buying new summer clothes and only buy spring clothes or autumn and winter. So I have several long sleeve dresses and thin jumpers to wear over the top of short sleeve dresses. I’ve not worn shorts at all this summer but we’ve actually had a lovely summer in part this year.

Muffin101 · 26/07/2024 20:03

Yes, most. Living in midi dresses or denim shorts, can’t remember when I last wore jeans. I’m stubborn as fuck and I I refuse to give up on this summer 😂 plus I run pretty hot, I never really wear a coat etc.

TheOGCCL · 26/07/2024 21:33

I don’t go on traditional summer holidays and run very cold so my ‘summer’ wardrobe consists of jeans, t shirts, cardigans and sandals. (I usually find jeans too cold in the winter unless I wear hold ups underneath). I have definitely worn my lighter weight clothes so far but my sandals haven’t had much of a look in until this week (I’m in London).

merryhouse · 26/07/2024 21:46

lol no.

mdinbc · 26/07/2024 23:05

Luckily we had a holiday, and the weather was hot, so I did get some chances to wear them. I'm in Western Canada, and we also have had a very cool spring and early summer.

Today is 15c and overcast, which has been typical. Any temp over 18c and if feels like summer here! I tend to wear jeans/cargoes, tshirt and light cotton cardigan.

paperrockscissors · 26/07/2024 23:17

Well I’m glad it’s not just me OP. I’ve got lots of lovely things I’ve been wanting to wear this summer but haven’t because of the weather. It’s not over yet though so don’t lose hope 🙏

urbanbuddha · 27/07/2024 00:34

I’ve been out in t-shirts and jeans but I haven’t had the fake tan on at all yet. Of the three dresses I bought for the summer I’ve worn one twice. London.
