How would you style this dress for a day time casual look-lunch?
Please also note that I don't like heels.

I will never be brave enough for fishnets. Sorry. Especially for day time wear. Thank you for the suggestions though. I never wore fishnets before. If I wear them now I might be laughed out of town.

Would nude tights work for me?

Or how about black leggings? Or cropped leggings.

Bare legs if you have a tan, otherwise yes you could wear nude tights.
Maybe also some sporty walking sandals?
I definitely wouldn't wear it with white trainers though!

Yes they'd look really nice. Maybe some tan coloured ones. Or red? Though maybe a bit hot for summer.

I think it looks good with red accessories as seen on the model. If those shoes wouldn't work for you, how about red Converse (with gel insoles if you like for a more comfortable walking experience) or, if you could manage wedges, maybe something like Fly Yunas which are a bit more chunky, comfortable and stable than most medium heels.
