Unscented, no white marks, not slimy, anti perspirant roll on

Hi all,

I'm looking for the Holy Grail! I don't like antiperspirant that smells. I don't like white marks on my navy tops or yellow marks on my white cotton blouses.

I don't like feeling slimy and having to blow on my armpits to dry them.

Can anyone suggest a solution? I was using a sure 72hr roll on for the last few years that although smelled, was inoffensive. I've bought four replacements since it was discontinued and given them all to my teenDD who doesn't mind smelling of flowers...

I can't use mitchum as although I did for many years, they have added fragrance to the unfragranced and I can smell it all day. I don't want to smell. Of anything!

Looking for ideas please.

Look at wild deodorant. It’s a stick. My daughter uses the scented ones which are great at masking a teenagers body odour. They do an unscented one I believe

Just adding that I love your name @DoopSnoggySnogg 😁

I wouldn't recommend Wild, although it pains me to say it. It definitely leaves white marks and is not heavy duty, which OP seems to want. It's also very expensive as so much of the product gets left behind in the refill when you need to change it.

There are many previous threads on reliable anti perspirants on Mumsnet which OP could search out.

Droolylabradors · 23/07/2024 19:49

@LindorDoubleChoc you are probably right 😁but I was having a moment and wanted to seize it and get to Boots!!

I've tried out the Dri one today, no smell at all and so far no BO. Will try Vichy tomorrow.

@Droolylabradors dying to know the outcome of this! Did you find something?

Droolylabradors · 10/07/2025 22:38

{mention:Shithitthefan}@Shithitthefan no, I still haven't found The holy grail!
I have a dry roll on from sure that I can wear with everything except white tops as despite the label saying no yellow marks, there are in fact yellow marks. And a wet roll on from sure that I wear with white tops!

@Droolylabradors oh no! I was banking on the outcome of this thread to solve my (same) problem! Thanks for the update.

Mitchum stick as per first post . VERY effective . I bought it when I was performing and it worked amazingly well in a high stress situation.

Starstarstar · 10/07/2025 23:29

I second Mum. So old school and NOT sexy ! But genuinely scentless and cheap and effective and never any marks. Can't understand why anyone would use anything else (although tbf i don't think it would be effective for very heavy perspirers)

mollio · 10/07/2025 23:37

Vichy is the only one that works for me -I usually buy the pale green top one which is very lightly scented ( there are unscented ones too ) however I do use my hairdryer to dry it when I I put it on first , which is a pain ! Worth it though …..

Droolylabradors · 11/07/2025 07:08

@Shithitthefan sorry!!!

I honestly tried every deo on the market. Bought Vichy but I still smell afterwards.

Mitchum smells more disgusting than any other deo on the market. Especially the unscented one which is clearly scented once it goes on your body!

My teenage DD has enough Deo to last her for a year because she got all the ones I tried!

The thing about Sure aqua is that I can't smell it for more than a minute once I've put it on. And it stops me sweating.

With mitchum, I'd put it on then still smell it hours later. Like some kind of ghost of pot pourri that's haunting me. Bleugh.

You want an anti Persians, not a deodorant. They are different.
But I can’t get past you putting it in 30 seconds before you leave the house? I mean, why?!
Mine goes on much earlier in my morning routine, so it’s dry by the time I dress.
I always use mens btw- much prefer the smell to artificial flowers!

StMarie4me · 11/07/2025 07:31

#antiperspirant! Autocorrect is wild!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/07/2025 07:33

Have you tried the Sure Body deodorant? It's scented but it's lemony rather than flowery which might suit you better. It's a stick.

ResidentPorker · 11/07/2025 07:45

I think the reason the unscented ones smell is that the active ingredients have a scent to them. So getting one that smells of nothing at all probably won’t happen. You do seem extremely sensitive to smells though OP.

I completely agree Mum unscented is what you need.

I cannot get along with the sticks at all, I find they leave a residue on my skin and transfer to the armpits of close fitting tops. Mum roll on all the way for me.

SisterMaryLuke · 12/07/2025 15:54

Another vote for Mum. Effective and no scent. I'm sure I read somewhere, that even products marked as unscented, have a neutral masking scent added to disguise the chemical smell in the raw ingredients.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/07/2025 16:03

I don't understand how roll on dries. I bought some when I'd forgotten my deodorant once and it didn't seem to dry, just stayed wet. I had to blast it with the hair drier in the end

GameOfJones · 12/07/2025 16:33

@DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen I think you just get used to the feel of it. I swapped from sprays to roll ons a few years ago and wouldn't go back. They're cheaper and more effective.

I apply my roll on in the morning and by the time I've brushed my teeth and washed my face I'm fine to get dressed. I remember it feeling a bit odd when I first made the swap but now I don't even think about it.

@HighburyLass sounds great! I would have assumed mum would be like dove in it's effectiveness. I'll nip to savers today!

My daughter thinks it's great as she's getting all the cast offs that don't work for me 😁

I use this as well and found it very effective. I have to use it as sensitive to perfume - but I've not noticed it staining particularly.
I can also use sanex sensitive which I like and can tolerate but it is slightly powder smelling.
Simple and other unperfumed ones don't work well. But the mum one does.
