Waterproof / Gortex trainers

We are going away for a few days next week and due to this glorious UK summer of rain, I need to find some waterproof trainers. My usual walking boots are too warm.

They need to be lightweight and rather easy on my poor battered feet. I wear bouncy new balance the majority of the time - naturally DH has a brilliant pair of outdoor NB ones but I can't find them online.

Does anyone have any recommendations please? I have size EU42 feet so can opt for mens too 😂

I have had so much more trouble with wet feet and or blisters that warm dry feet are a joy to me. God I’ve hated finding leak proof, supportive footwear. Warm feet will never be something I whinge about!

@NoSheDidnt wow. Just wow.

I've explained that my feet are not merely WARM.

I have a condition known as PPE caused by stage 4 cancer.

Hence I need cushioned & cool footwear.

The other posters have been incredibly helpful, am not so sure why you feel the need to continue to comment on a thread merely asking for some recommendations about footwear.

It's hardly controversial and frankly how many pairs of shoes I own is nobody's business but mine - unless you're some kind of foot fettish weirdo?

Please do feel free to take your healthy, warm & dry feet and jog on Smile

I have some Gortex trail running shoes from Asics.

I'm going to say, they're far too warm to run in, ever, and I don't wear them in summer for walking. If its warm, I just get wet feet.

Everyone is different though. Warm feet is what you need, so presumably you have if you're outdoorsy you have something like a Columbia reflective walking boot, and possibly a neoprene welly boot? You probably wear your reflective walker all year round? But that would be too hot for lots of people, and neoprene boots are generally heavy, so again on a hot summer day, not wanted. Yes it rains all the bloody time but it's still very warm!
A hot sweaty foot enclosed in a hot boot easily becomes a painful, corn induced, blister ridden pain beast, which then stops any further exercise and ruins a holiday.
I have several coats and several pairs of shoes. They all get used, because they all have different jobs to do. Dh who is much more sedentary than me, only needs two coats, and has 1) smart trainer for work 1) pair of office shoes when he's expected to be in smart attire or travelling for work 1) pair regularly trainers for non working days. 1) pair of good quality walking boots 1) pair of welly boots and 1) pair of slippers. Neither of us are into fashion, things only get replaced when they are worn out and no longer fit for purpose. One day I hope to find a coat and a shoe which caters for all my needs, until then I'll carry on replacing various items as and when.

Your shoes look ideal OP, I'm glad you had a good first outing with them, 🍻 to many more walks, and ideally walks which have a pub stopArchers!

Thank you @veritusvarity Smile

Ironically the condition of my feet change throughout the cycles of my treatment so I have to switch up shoes depending.

Sadly the one thing my feet cannot tolerate at all anymore is my birkies which I've faithfully worn for years. Cork is no longer my friend lol
