Anyone who used to get Botox or fillers and decided to stop?

I used to get Botox twice a year but found i metabolised it very quickly and I would only get about 4 or 5 weeks out of the whole thing. I also had lip filler but it ended up migrating, even though both times I went to very qualified doctors.

I think Botox and fillers may work very well for some but I made the decision that the cost was just too much for me aswell at this point in time.

Has anyone else made the decision to quit them? If so what were your main reasons and is there any other facial treatments or products you really benefited from?

I've stopped Botox as TTC, and had microneedling instead which I've found has really helped my skin reach places I never thought it could go! NB I am religious with the retinol and skincare regime. I wouldn't use microneedling as a quick fix

And, to add, I metabolised it super fast too. With the microneedling, this isn't the thing you can do at home. You need to go to a proper medical grade place and the needle penetrates to a depth that my forehead will be covered in blood

@FakeMiddleton sorry to hear that you also metabolised it quickly. I've heard great things about microneedling so might give that a go

A friend did Botox for a while in her early 30s but stopped after she got a less well-paid job. I think she looked great in both conditions.

I find argiriline from the Ordinary is brilliant instead of Botox (honestly; look it up!)

I do love me some prescription tretinoin and azelaic acid, too, though — if any of you fancy trying it out for cheapo, here’s a little linky to try (not altruistic as I get discount if you use it but 100% advocate that it’s fab!)

I used to get Botox in 3 areas for about 7 years. However with age and my eyes getting that hooded feeling I have stopped.
I now have a bit of tear trough filler to even out/smooth the under eye.
I could most likely do with some Botox in my 11's but I just try to remember not to frown!

@ChocAuVin thank you for the link, will definitely sign up and I've also heard great things about Argirline, ive used a retinol from The Ordinary and really liked it

You’re welcome @Yellowcarismine! Something else I like for 11s and my ‘Jack Nicholson’s’ (if you know, you know!) are those reusable frown patches — not frownies but same principle except as I say can be reused a few times — I was sceptical but they absolutely prevent me from scrunching my face overnight.
