What hair tool do I need

I have fine but abundant hair, v slight wave (maybe 1b/1c). Bob length with some layers.

It has a tendency to not take heat well and frizz. I air dry it a lot because of time/laziness/lack of skill. It has enough body to look 'ok' but it has bits where it kinks or flicks out.

I had a babyliss big hair (ok but not great for me as I got too much volume) and I have a hot comb but that is for straightening out when dry.

What I would like to try is something which drys and styles together but is easy and cheap.

I looked at the revlon one step but is that basically like the big hair? I don't want bouffy, i don't want dead straight,I just want a bit more shiny and 'done'

Revlon one step is much better than the big hair. You have to dry with a hair drier first ten finish it off or you'll damage your hair, use it as a finishing tool.

I second the Revlon One Step, it's great. Tried the Babyliss Big Hair but hated it. The Revlon is more like an old-fashioned blow dry with a barrel brush, but miles easier! I have similar hair to yours, OP, the Revlon gives me lovely smooth hair on day one, the curl tends to come back overnight but much less frizzy than before.

It sounds to me like you need to blowdry it with a hairdryer and a brush rather than using a tool. I have similar texture hair and use medium heat & air flow and a vent brush which gives enough control to smooth the hair and remove kinks but doesn't straighten fully and isn't hair work like a round brush. You do need to go through it in a few sections like a hairdresser would, working the brush and hairdryer from root to tip pulling the hair smooth as you go
