Lip filler advice

I'm late 40s. When I was younger I had very full lips now they are thin.

Last year I had hyaluronic acid lip fillers. They lasted days, when I went back for the check up they had already gone completely. My body absorbed the hyaluronic acid. She redid my lips on the follow up visit and again it lasted days.

What is a more permanent solution?

By more permanent I don't mean forever, I'm not asking about surgery or anything more invasive.

If you absorb fillers quickly, there's not much you can do about that - it's just your body's metabolism.

You need to look at alternatives to fillers that produce a similar effect e.g. lip flip which uses Botox. It does depend on the shape of your mouth as it can show off your teeth more, and if you absorb fillers, you may also absorb Botox. But worth considering.

Do you know what brand of fillers were used? Maybe you need a different brand. My doctor uses Juverderm and Belotero and I have no issues with it.

Maybe look into having a lip lift?

Thank you, I'm not enthusiastic about a lip lift as my teeth were badly damaged in a recent accident. Ahead of me are many dental appointments and lots of work to do.

My body tolerates Botox well.

Is there an alternative to hyaluronic fillers?
I know that I should speak to the practitioner. However, I want to know what the options are so that I can choose the correct practitioner in the first instance, otherwise they may try to sell me an expensive treatment which won't work again.

Last time she used Juvederm.

There was no adverse reaction to the treatment, my body metabolised it quickly.
For the day or two that it was there, my lips looked great and I would like to recreate that, using a filler that lasts.
