What are these trousers called?

Fitted at the waist, loose leg, slightly narrower at the ankle without being a jogger or paper bag...

They're a thick cotton and SO comfy - need careful styling to make sure I don't end up looking like a pirate, but I definitely want another pair in maybe an olive green or a cobalt blue and I don't know what to search for!

That's what we called them in the 70s/80s.

Those trousers are called 'stay the fuck away as they're unflattering'

Lentilweaver · 15/07/2024 07:39

I have a couple and they seem to be called tapered trousers. I think they look fine on me. I am slim around the hips. I wear widelegs too but these go better with flow tops.

Sibilantseamstress · 15/07/2024 07:48

They look good on you OP. I can see why you would like another pair. Comfy snd flattering.

They won’t be for everyone, but we are all shaped differently.

I’d search with the words “pleat front,” or “pleated.”

Pegs.

You can't win on here can you. If someone posts a thread talking about skinny jeans then everyone will say how dated and ugly they are, and do they know nothing about fashion because nobody is wearing them and it's all about a looser fit. Someone posts about looser fit trousers and is told they are ugly and suit nobody and nobody should be wearing them..

Bjorkdidit · 15/07/2024 11:11

OP have you looked on Vinted for the Zara ones? Someone might be selling the exact same trousers, possibly in other colours if they were available and that's what you're looking for.

Not so long ago I bought an item I wanted off Vinted while sitting in the M&S changing rooms because they'd sold out of my size in store and on their own website. Was half the price too.

Oliver Bonas have done similar in the past. I find them really comfortable too. They often have usefully man-sized pockets.
