How to dress for my new shape

Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone might have some advice on how best to dress for my body shape. I used to be slim with curves but since having a baby I’ve piled on the weight and circumstances mean I probably won’t be able to shift it any time
soon.

I’m short with a long torso and short legs. My legs aren’t too bad and are still slim-ish but I’ve got double Ds and most of my weight is on my middle. So not much of a waist to speak of and a fairly pregnant looking belly. I also hate my arms so prefer to cover them up.

I usually wear leggings/skinny jeggings and a long loose top to try and skim over the belly but on photos I just look really top heavy. I’ve thought about Mom style jeans but I feel like the wideness just takes away the slimmest part of me in covering up my legs.

Any advice would be appreciated!

What size are you OP?

Depends on the shop! Generally 12 - 14 on top. 14 - 16 on bottom. Sometimes medium, sometimes large, sometimes extra large!

i have a similar shape - I advise cropped wide leg trousers - slightly cropped- and a shorter length t shirt with a layer over it like an open long line shirt etc

flatform sandals or trainers too

check out wearsmymoney.com a blogger who puts together great flattering outfits

@CountFucula Thanks I like the sound of that. Please could I have a few links? Or where you tend to get them from?

No problem - at the risk of seeming a superfan (!) marks and Spencer are quite useful for this shape! :)

@CountFucula I do love M&S x

You are quite right I. Your observation that if you go skinny on the bottom you'll just highlight the bigness on top.

You want to create balance. So a slightly cropped jean showing a little ankle will show slim ankle whilst balancing out the top and bottom
