Hi,

After years and years - decades actually (I'm now 40) of really dry lips, they finally feel normal! When I say dry, I don't mean just a little chapped here and there, I mean SUPER dry all the time. They would peel every day and be so sore. I think I ruined my lips in my early teens actually with constantly re applying lip balms.

I wear lipstick every day and feel kind of naked without it, so that won't help. I tried every lip salve and balm out there and they never worked. Then I read that there is actually an ingredient in it that makes the issue worse 🤔🤨 Great.

I stopped using them altogether and now use a basic facial moisturiser, currently CeraVe underneath my lipstick and then lock in the moisture with the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream.....which isn't really a cream. Anyway, it is quite expensive and vaseline would probably work pretty well too, but only if you've got moisturiser underneath, but strangely not one designed specifically for lips. Stick to a normal moisturiser.

Anyway, that's my tip for anyone out there with really dry, crusty lips.

You're welcome 😊

Over to you..

Hydrogen peroxide 3% mixed 50% with water and the juice of a lemon is a really good soak to get stains out of nails from either fake tan or nail polish. Soak for around 10 mins and use a nail brush.

Also LED Blue light reduces oil production really well. 5 mins every morning and I only need to powder once a day. Before this I had to powder practically every hour!

Rub the ends of your tweezers over an emery board, it makes them so much sharper and easier to use

BlanklyMyDear · 10/07/2024 14:46

OMG - @Rina66 - I’ve just tried that and it makes an amazing difference! Thank you!

Presumably everyone on this thread already makes their own sugar scrub - with olive oil, sugar and a few drops of your preferred essential oil? I laugh at the tiny dainty jars sold for a fortune in shops.

this is not at all glam, but is hands (ha) down the best hand/foot cream I have ever used. I was in despair at my poor cracked hands last winter and got it from the pharmacist. It was actually much cheaper (about half the price) from my local place, and also comes in a tube for chucking in your bag which costs about £1. I now have a big mayo style bottle in each room, and a tube in every bag.

Use 'just for men' beard dye to dye your eyebrows. It's dead easy, foolproof and box lasts for ages

Lansinoh nipple cream for cold sores/chapped lips.

A little concealer on your lids makes you look so much more awake

Vaseline or castor oil on your lashes/brows to make them long and luscious

Cold teaspoons on puffy eye bags
