If you wear glasses for reading...

...how on earth do you put makeup on??

This is a new thing for me. I started wearing glasses for reading/close-up stuff a few months ago (I'm 46). If I wear my glasses I can see what I'm doing but can't access my face to put on concealer, mascara etc. If I take them off, I can't see well enough!

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but any tips would be much appreciated!

Use a magnifying mirror - that's what I do

I don't need then for reading most of the time but my distance sight is so poor I have to have the mirror about 2 inches from my nose and can't get my hand in the gap. Contact lenses are my best friend.

Yep, the light up magnifying mirror is definitely the way forward! Can't do my make up without it anymore!

Or buy some cheapy shop half reading glasses, the kind you can put on the end of your nose.

Magnifying mirror! Thank you!

I knew there was something I was missing 😁

How does everyone else make dinky links?! 😬

Like others have said; you need a magnifying mirror. I have one that has the usual mirror on one side and magnifying on the other. I flip it over to check the back of my hair in my wall mirror. Think I got it from Tesco. After I've done blusher, etc I hold the mirror in front of a window to check make-up is more or less symmetrical.

I think also you might have to try a few different types of magnification to get the best for you. Also a double sided free standing mirror; one magnifying and one not; two get 2 perspectives
