If you’re into that kind of thing.
I’m often described as glamorous, but I think this is something you only say to older women

when does stylish stop ?

They are two very different things and they don’t relate to age.

I agree with the first poster. Two different characteristics - that often coexist - that are irrespective of age.

Unfortunately I’m neither!

Alwaystimeforacupoftea · 08/07/2024 19:07

Being either sounds great!

I just had to look up Linda Lusardi. She's definitely glamorous and I would imagine always has been.
I don't think stylish and glamorous are the same. Plenty of stylish women at all ages, and plenty of glamorous woman at all age.":
For example - glamorous to me would be Elizabeth Hurley (at all ages), stylish would be Kate Moss
Neither is better - just I think one or the other

Ha ha. Thanks all. Took it as a teeny bit ageist but yes agree grateful for any kindness

Stylish hasn't begun for me yet 😂

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 08/07/2024 20:58

I’m 60. I’ve often been described as stylish. Never glamorous.(Thank God)

Carsarelife · 08/07/2024 21:00

41 was the glamorous age

MotherOfCatBoy · 08/07/2024 21:02

As an aside I think glamour has an etymology that suggests a certain magic… it’s a trick, essentially, a deceit, an elision of the truth, that is alluring and attractive; it can be put on and slid off again at will. Those who practice it are enchanters or even witches. The modern world has lost sight of this.

Mind you, I read a story about Marilyn Monroe once that told how, when she lived in New York, she could walk down the street in a headscarf completely incognito. However, if she decided to be “Marilyn,” she had only to make a few small adjustments- take off the scarf, walk a certain way - and she’d be mobbed within minutes.
