What to do about wedding dress shopping when TTC?

Hi all, I posted before about TTC before our wedding due to low progesterone and worries over fertility plus our ages. We've decided to go for it and start trying next cycle. I'm looking for a bit of advice on dresses though. I've already bought a wedding dress which needs substantial adjustments but in all honesty I'm having dress regret and contemplating buying a different one regardless of our TTC plans. Wedding is in February so if we were to conceive quickly and all goes well, I'd likely need to buy a bump friendly dress. If we don't conceive quickly (which I think is more likely, but you never know) I'll need to decide to either get the adjustments done to my current dress or purchase a new one that I'm more comfortable with.

Has anyone been in a similar situation re TTC before wedding &/or can advise on how late to leave the dress situation? Looking at current availability for seamstresses near me I think I'd be able to leave it until 9/10 weeks before the wedding to book them but possibly even closer as tbh I've only enquired with a couple of the more popular seamstresses which we likely to get booked out sooner. Just wondering really how late to leave looking seriously at booking seamstresses / looking at alternatives?

I'm thinking if I did get pregnant sooner I'd probably go for a less traditional dress, just a nice maternity occasion dress so wouldn't need full bridal adjustments in the same way a fancy wedding dress does. Likewise if I decided to purchase a different dress if we didn't conceive quickly I'd like to go for a nice occasion dress rather than formal wedding dress.

Slightly similar situation, I bought my absolute dream wedding dress 12 months before our wedding day (think the absolute opposite of a bump friendly dress really, sleek, fitted), fell pregnant nearly 5 months before our wedding day! The bridal shop I bought my dress from was always going to do my alterations so I rang them in a panic when I found out I was pregnant and they worked absolute magic, they just added a panel to the back and sides of my dress and a few other things to make it perfect for me and my baby bump, it looked absolutely amazing, so don’t stress too much! I would say though the alterations were expensive however they were going to be anyway for a wedding dress. Don’t wait and plan on conceiving, buy a dress you like x

I'm glad they were able to sort it out for you @Mrsttcno1. I think I'm pretty set on buying a new dress rather than altering the existing dress but it's just whether or not I buy a dress sooner or wait and see what happens for a few months and maybe a new one 12/13 weeks before the wedding so I can see if I need a bump friendly one.
