I need a flawless coverage foundation that isn't heavy

Anyone...?

I'm quite pale but with lots of blemishes, one big rosy cheek and lots of moles/beauty spots. Don't need to cover those, but open pores and uneven skin tone I'd like to see that back of.

Help!!!

You sound similar to me ! I use Estee Lauder double wear its fab, flawless without looking heavy.

REIDmylips · 10/04/2008 20:12

i dont have pale skin but do have large pores and am quite spotty i tend not to wear much make up tbh but when i go out i wear l'oreal cashmere matte foundation, i find that it covers my blemishes quite well.

TheCoderator · 10/04/2008 20:12

chanel italumiere for dry skin
matt lumiere for greasoids

BibiThree · 10/04/2008 20:13

Oooh, thank you. If I meander up to the counter will the scarily made up ladies help me with the colour match?

I use Boots No7 Intelligent Colour at the moment and as nice as it is, it's not as intelligent as it could be iykwim

i'm sure they would - i got a lovely clinique one for my wedding and it was brilliant, the boots staff were really helpful! i couldnt wear it often though because it was quite heavy!!

janeite · 10/04/2008 20:25

The staff in Prescriptives are great and their foundations are excellent. If you're pale, Clinique ones may be too pink or at least they were for me. That new max Factor compact one gives good coverage but might be too thick for your liking.

BigHotMama · 10/04/2008 20:26

Estee Lauder Double wear or Virgin Vie Perfect Balance. Feel lovely to wear and long lasting.

geordieminx · 10/04/2008 20:32

I love clinique gentle light make-up

BibiThree · 10/04/2008 21:04

Am going to be v cheeky, go to all these places and tell them i've been given a few recommendations and ask for samples - will they sneer down their heavily made up noses at me, or hand me some dinky little samples with a huge smile?

Can you tell i'm scared of make up ladies?

I second pescriptives they major in foundation so they would be really really helpful and can do a unique mix for you. i went to a dept store in oxford street to use their counter though.

CarGirl · 10/04/2008 21:07

have you tried touche eclait under your foundation to help the lighten dark blemishes - worth a try?

chocolatespiders · 10/04/2008 21:07

chanel gave me lots of samples to try and i went for one of them in the end, - double perfection it is called i think

chocolatespiders · 10/04/2008 21:08

we posted exactly same time but different things

AllwaysDoingSomething · 11/04/2008 09:26

I'm a massive fan of Chanel Matt Lumiere, like Cod says its for oilier skin types. It covers, prevents shine even after a full day in work and all without the use of touch up or powder and won't look too matt and flat. I only found this foundation recently and after trying many many many others can happily say ?tis the best.

All premium brand consessions will happily dole out samples. Go forth and ask.

CountessDracula · 11/04/2008 09:35

I have dry skin and vitalumiere is very heavy and has a pat butcher style silvery sheen IMO

I did buy some but I sent ti to someone on here as it wasn't for me

Almay are very good and quite cheap - I use this as I am 41 and I find it keeps my skin hydrated.

this is very good too

CountessDracula · 11/04/2008 09:36

Have you tried mineral makeup? I find it too powdery as my skin is dry but some seem to love it

Someone makes a liquid one too now I think

MrsMattie · 11/04/2008 09:36

I wear Maybelline Rewind in 'Nude', dabbed on to skin with a cosmetic sponge. Always get compliments.

HaventSleptForAYear · 11/04/2008 09:37

Another vote for the Chanel here. I got some of the Vitalumière stuff recently in... (hang on, just checking..) shade 20 (called Clair-Cameo here in France) and it's great for my really dry, pale skin.

It has made a huge difference to my appearance - seriously! I bought some boots stuff in the UK and just can't get on with it - supposed to be moisturising but just cakey.

CountessDracula · 11/04/2008 09:38

here

HaventSleptForAYear · 11/04/2008 09:38

Oh Countess do you find it heavy? Maybe because I put so much moisturiser underneath there's only a thin layer on me. I wear tinted moisturiser for everyday though (Estee Lauder)

CountessDracula · 11/04/2008 09:41

I felt like it was suffocating my skin!

BBBee · 11/04/2008 09:42

chanel or max factor version of inteligent colour

have also found one of those serum things underneath makes it feel lighter on.

kando · 11/04/2008 09:43

BibiThree - another vote for Estee Lauder Double Wear. They will match your colour for you and also give you teeny bottle with some of your shade in it - it lasts for about a week so you can see if it is good for your skin before you buy. Costs about £22 but if you are near an outlet centre with a Cosmetics Shop, you can get it for around £15 (there's one in Gunwharf Quays if you are anywhere near the south coast - loads of other top brand names too, although I don't think they colour match at the outlet store.)

BibiThree · 11/04/2008 10:19

Thank you every one - will hot foot it to Debenhams/Boots on the weekend and ask for samples. I don't wear make up every day so don't mind paying up to about £30 as it'll last me the rest of the year probably.

TBH i found the double wear to heavy and got a refund on it.... but tonight i noticed they have bought out a new double wear light... which may be worth looking at and trying
